Reflection on bullying
According to the dictionary, bullying, or bully, means:“To hurt or frighten someone who is smaller or less powerful than you, often forcing them to do something they do not want to do”
These acts are faced by many, and most of them are students. These are not only happening in schools but in places where bad companies hang out at. Some examples of bullying are threatening people, calling them names, “playing” with them like their punching bags, beating them up for things they want or grudges they hold against them, extortion of money, etc.
These acts hurt the victims either emotionally and physically. And such acts usually happen because the bullies want “pride” and “respect” from their peers, and these bullies usually turn up in groups. They think that by doing such acts, they can get what they want by making people fear them, to make them to obey their orders. And these bullies usually have people to back them up and help them, forming gangs. But they are actually cowards deep down inside, maybe these happens because they land up in the wrong company and pick up bad examples from their “friends”. I think that such acts are ridiculous because they not only ruin your own reputation but also your family’s. They give people an impression that you are not brought up properly by your parents and is a bad child or a bad friend to have.
Having to get all these bad impressions, is it really that good to bully others and let others give you the name of a bully, thinking that by being a big bully people will fear and obey you? Think about it, it wouldn’t do much good to you, right? If your parents were to know that you have such a bad behaviour in school, what would they think of you and how would they feel? They will be sad, those who loves you will be sad. They want to know that you are someone worth their trust their time and their love, so don’t betray their trust for you.
Bullying can be resolve by letting the people of higher authorities know, in that case, the bullies of the same rank of a student will not be able to fight back and do nonsensical things to hurt her/him.
I feel that the bullies out there should think through their actions and think about how much they’ve gain from doing such acts and how did their acts affected the others. If you were in their shoes, how would you have felt? Demoralized? Angry? Afraid? And the consequences of such act are not small, getting reprimanded, punished, lose true friends because of such acts, these all are not worth such acts. Bullying is bad, so as far as possible, don’t do it. I think that’s all I have to say about bullying.
