Service Learning Day Reflection
During Service Learning Day, 21st May, my class, 1e6, presented our product: Haunted House. This idea was brought up by one of our classmates. Together, the whole class put in their ideas and we planned it during our CE lessons and some of the English lessons. Although there was some unsatisfactory from our classmates, we manage to put everything in the planning. We even had Saturdays’ gatherings just to plan this big project. I am in charge of doing the posters since I am the CIP leader and my friends and I really put in a lot of effort. For logistics, my classmates contributed a lot, and my form teacher, Miss Thor, also contributed. We even went to Chinatown and Orchard Road to buy some of the things needed. Then, on 19th May, the whole class went back to set up the Haunted House. The process was really fun and tiring. Eventually, from morning to evening, we finished setting up the stations.
The day arrived and we started the game at ten plus. At first, everything was chaotic but after our teamwork, we manage to organize the crowd. Then everything went smoothly although some groups were hard to handle. But it was successful for us. A lot of people supported us by playing the game. In the end, we earned $364!! Our hard work really paid off and we were very satisfied with the results.
From this project, I learnt teamwork wand cooperation. My class’s bond is also stronger. I learnt something new, which is organization skill. I learnt to control the crowd and the speed of the groups going in to play. I think this experience benefited my class a lot.
