Old Ghosts reflection // 8:49 PM.
The story 'Old Ghosts' talks about the life of a seventy-six year old man, Jim Brennan. When he wakes up on the morning of his seventy-sixth birhtday, he is haunted by the menories of his past. He starts to see images of his childhood sweetheart, Ellen that are not really there. In his younger days, he made the mistake of giving in to tempation, and breaking Ellen's heart. Later on, Ellen passed away at the age of nineteen, due to illness. At twelve in the night, Jim crawls into bed and sees Ellen once again. This time, he is finally able to be reunited with his love for eternity.I think that Jim was not thinking when he gave in to temptation that night. If he had thought twice, he would probably not have hurt Ellen so deeply. Because of that one mistake, he felt regret for the rest of his life. Even at seventy-six, he was still haunted by his mistake. Ellen had loved Jim innocently, only to have him abandon her for the one thing she did not give him. She had wanted to preserve herself until her marriage, but she was never able to get married. This story tells us that we should all never make the same mistake that Jim did. We should all think about the consequences of our actions before we do something. In Jim's case, he did not think about the consequences of his actions. In the end, was haunted by the result of his mistake for the rest of his life. He also hurt his true love, and never got to apologise to her or even say a last goodbye before she passed away. Jim only realised that he was wrong after Ellen was dead, and it was too late to make up for his mistakes. Labels: Germaine

Old Ghost reflection // 6:37 PM.
This story talks about a seventy-six year old man, named Jim Brennan. Spending his birthday alone in his house, he imagines things that does not exist. For instance, he was talking to his ex-lover, Ellen, who is dead due to her illness. However, he regretted for not choosing her as his girlfriend in the past as he is lonely now, and imagining virtual images of her. I can tell form his actions that he was rash and did not spend time thinking of and event that would affect his future. In the end, he died and joined Ellen...
I think that the story is sad but meaningful at the same time. It shows how our decisions would affect our future and how we should cherish what we have now. The story was easy to understand as it was descriptive, which gives me an idea of the events that were happening.
I personally think that most of us are like Jim, who makes decisions recklessly, but regrets in the end and wishes to go back to the past to undo things. However, with the decisions made by ourselves, we should be mature enough to bear the consequences that we face. We should not be like Jim who regrets what he does and being so immature when he turned back and look at his life.

Old Ghost Reflection
The story is about Jim Brennan, a man who woke up early on his seventy-sixth birthday. He lives alone and was lonely as there was no one there to celebrate his birthday with him. He also saw the ghost of his childhood sweetheart, Ellen Kelly. When Jim and Ellen was young, they had spent many sweet times together. But when Jim grows up, he followed his father on a business trip and fell for another woman and eventually cheated on Ellen. He abandoned Ellen, who was sickly at that time and even married the woman. Another reason why Jim left Ellen was because Ellen gave him everything he wanted, except the one thing that she would only give after her marriage, which is sex and which was what Jim wants after he matured over the period of time.
I feel that Jim was very immature when he abandoned Ellen. He gave up his long time love for another woman. By the time he realised his mistake, it was already too late as Ellen was already dead. I can also see that the realisation of his own mistake was a very big blow to him as he sees everything in the world now being very complicated. So it was also good that Jim realised that he had committed a grave mistake.
This story also tells me that we must treasure everything we have now and not take things for granted. We must not give up what we already have for some other new things and even if we thought of giving it up, we must think carefully.

This story is about a seventy six year old man who was called Jim Brennan. He keeps imagining things that are not existing and he keeps recalling his late girlfriend whom he sometimes see and talk to often. On his birthday, he thinks about his past mistakes and he feels very remorse. Although it was his birthday, there was no one there to care for him, buy him cakes, sing him the birthday song and celebrate his birthday with him.
In the story, it also talks about how Jim let his childhood sweet heart, Ellen down often. Ellen has always rejected by Jim when she asked him to go out to play when they were young. But now, when he wants to ask Ellen to play with him, she is already dead. A long time ago, Jim and Ellen were am loving couple until Jim met another girl and decided to abandon Ellen. He brought the girl for a holiday and left the sick Ellen alone and didn’t even say goodbye. When Jim grew up and came back, Ellen had already died.
I feel that Jim was too immature to abandon such a good girl like Ellen for the other girl who was not that good. After Ellen’s death, he was remorseful and knew that he loved her much more than the other girl.

This is a story about a man called Jim Brennan. He lived alone and it was his seventy-sixth birthday. He was thinking about his past mistakes which made him filled with remorse. It was his birthday but he realized that there weren’t any cards for him, no cakes, no songs. Nobody cared about him or celebrated his birthday for him.
This story also talks about Jim letting his childhood sweetheart, Ellen down. This was because he followed in his father’s footsteps and married some girl he met in business. Ellen was always rejected by Jim when she asked him to go out to play when they were young. Now, when he wants to ask Ellen out to play, he is unable to, as Ellen is already dead.
A long time ago, they were a loving couple until Jim met another girl and abandoned Ellen. The following year, he brought the girl for a holiday and left the sick Ellen alone and didn’t even say goodbye. When Jim got more mature and came back, Ellen had already died.
Jim was too immature to abandon such a good girl like Ellen for the other girl who was not that good. After Ellen’s death, he was remorseful and knew that he loved her much more than the other girl.
Jim’s death might have been a good thing as he would have been able to see Ellen in the netherworld. And the loving couple would get to be reunited again after such a long, long time.
This tells us that we have to cherish the loved ones around us and not to wait till they leave us that we start to cherish them.

This story is about an old man called Jim Brennan who likes to imagine, waking up on his seventy-sixth birthday. Although it was his birthday, there was no one to help him celebrate. Instead, he found joy opening letters of electricity bills. He imagined his childhood sweetheart appearing at his frontdoor asking him out to play. However, he turned down her offer as he could not play with the dead. When Ellen was alive, Jim and her were deeply in love. However, one day, his father brought him to the city and under bad influence, Jim learnt wrong things. He took away Ellen's virginity and abandoned her. He felt remourseful now but things could not go back as they were since Ellen was already dead. The story ended when Jim died and Ellen and him reunited.
I feel that Jim was very irresponsible when he was young. He should not have abandoned Ellen after having sex with her. This had hurt Ellen deeply. Although Jim may be remourseful, but he still cannot amend the pain he had caused to Ellen mentally. I am glad that he finally understood where he went wrong. But he matured too late. By the time he realised his mistake, Ellen was already dead.
But Jim cannot be blamed entirely. His firlty father should also be blamed. He should not take Jim to those places. But human makes err. I feel that Jim should be forgiven as during that time it was a foolish mistake and he was still young and immature. From this story, we can learn that time do not wait. just like Jim realised his mistake too late. We can also learn that we shoudl always think of the consequences before action.

This story is about a seventy-six year old man whose name is Jim Brennan and keeps imagining things which does not exist. He keeps thinking of his ex-girlfriend who was already dead and he even talks to her virtual image which he often see.
A very long time ago,Jim and Ellen were a loving couple. They enjoyed themselves together until Jim met another girl and abandoned Ellen. One year later,he brought the new girl for a holiday, leaving sick Ellen alone, not even saying goodbye to her. When Jim came back, Ellen passed away and there was already no way he could tell Ellen anything anymore.
Jim regretted abandoning Ellen, who was such a nice and loving girl who loved each other. Jim did not cherish Ellen (a great gift),a wonderful girl. After Ellen's death,he regretted whatever he had done and realised he loved her even more than before.Even though Ellen is dead, Jim still feels that Ellen is somewhere near him.
I feel that we should make careful decisions before deciding on anything. We may not be able to pay for whatever wrong we had done in the future,if we happen to miss out something or make a wrong decision.
From this story, I learn that we should treasure whatever we have. Cherish anything around us as whatever we lost may not come back to us again, just like the case of Jim losing Ellen. We should never take things for granted. Regretting after the incident is useless. Thus, we should treasure whatever we have.

old ghost reflection. [ trina (: // 4:40 PM.
This story is about Jim Brennan when he woke up on his seventy–six birthday. Although it was meant to be a happy occasion, there was no one to celebrate for him. There were no cakes and ale, songs and celebrations, no one remembered his birthday. He then remembered Ellen Kelly, the one who Jim had been seeing a lot of, always been agreeable to everything that Jim said. She was Jim’s ex-girlfriend.
During the time when Jim was young and was still together with Ellen, they had spent many sweet and memorable memories together. However as Jim grows older and gets influenced by the adult life in the city, he wanted more than what Ellen would give before she gets married, sex. He then fell for another girl and brought her for a holiday the following year, abandoning the sickly Ellen without even saying a goodbye.
Jim returned after a while; Ellen was already dead. It was too late; there were no more warm kisses and a heart soaring with love. Jim regretted what he did. However in the end, Jim was reunited with Ellen, they were together again.
I feel that Jim had a very childish mind by ditching Ellen for another girl just to have sex, just because Ellen didn’t want to. He should have stayed by Ellen, especially because she is sick. However, he brought the other girl for a holiday, without even saying a goodbye to Ellen. How heartless could that be? He should have said a goodbye to Ellen, even if he doesn’t love her anymore. He could have just treated her as a friend, showing at least some concern.
Reading the ending of the story, I feel that Jim did the right thing by going back to Ellen, reuniting with her. After all she was a very nice and innocent girl. She would agree to everything that Jim says, and go shopping with Jim to buy the things that his mother required. She even promised to love him forever and ever, which she did.
I feel that this story can be closely related to our daily lives. One point is that happiness cannot be achieved without going through any difficulties and hard work. For example, we would not gain anything just by sitting around and doing nothing. Hard work has to be contributed in order to gain what we want.
The other point would be that it is always too late to regret what we did. We would not be able to turn back the clock to undo what we did. We would not be able to just simply say a word of “sorry” and expect the others to forgive us. Some things just can’t be forgiven for whatever we did. Thus, we should treasure everything that we have, do the best in everything that we do. And more importantly, never regret what we did as time can never be turned back.

Old Ghost Reflections
This story is about a seventy-six year old man whose name is Jim Brennan and he keeps imagining things which does not exist. He keeps thinking of his ex-girlfriend who was already dead and he even talks to her virtual image he sees. He feels very regretful and guilty for not choosing her as his girlfriend in the past. From his actions, I can infer that his action was rash and he did not think carefully before making such an important decision which could decide his future. Jim was also very immature in the past but since the death of his beloved Ellen, he matured so much.
However, it was already too late. Thus, from here, we can see that we have to cherish the time we have and do everything we want or it would be too late in the future. The author also uses many good phrases and interesting words that we might never use before. Next, the author also keeps describing Jim’s feelings and has many dialogues to spice up the story.
Lastly, the author ends the story with a perfect ending. Like the phrase “Killing two birds with a stone”, the author describes that Jims dies but he was able to be with Ellen in heaven and they would not be separated again. I like the style of ending as most stories end on a happy note and it was very touching.
After all the thoughts of being together with Ellen again and the reality which does not allow that, I thought that they would never be together again. However, the clever author gave a story a twist and made the story more interesting by ending with both Jim and Ellen being together. This was really something was that one would never have thought before.
After reading this story, I would like to recommend this to my friends as it was a story which was “one of its kind” and touching. This could prove the breaking point for emotional readers…

Old Ghosts [EUGENIA(:] // 11:39 PM.
This story is about a man named Jim Brennan, who lives alone. It was his seventy-six birthday and he is thinking about the past and all the mistakes that he have done in the past that made him felt remorseful. On his birthday, he woke up and he later then realised that it was his birthday, there wasn't any cards, no cakes, no ale, no songs, nobody celebrated for him, nobody cares about him. This story is also about Jim letting his childhood sweetheart, Ellen down ; his father didn't lead by example and hence, he married a girl he met in business as his father influenced him. When he was young, he always reject Ellen when she asked him out to play but when Jim wants to call Ellen out, he cannot becaue Ellen's already dead.
Long long time ago, Jim and Ellen were a loving a couple. They did many enjoyable things together. Until Jim met another girl later, he abandoned Ellen. In the following year, he brought the pearly girl for a holiday. Leaving the sick Ellen alone, not even saying a goodbye. When Jim is back and got more mature,Ellen died already, he was too late, there is no way of turning back.
Jim was so immature at that time. He abandoned a nice and loving girl that loved her a lot for a pearly girl that doesn't love her that much. Jim didn't cherish such a great gift, such a wonderful girl. After Ellen's death, he regretted for his wrong doings and he realised that he still love her and in fact, more. Although, Ellen isn't with him already, he still feels that Ellen is around him.
I feel that everybody should make right, wise decisions before we do anything as there's a chinese saying, "一失足成千古恨,再回头已百年身". This means that if we missed a step and fall or do something wrong, we will regret it forever and there's no way of turning back. In Jim's case, it means that once Jim abandoned Ellen, leaving her sick and die, there's no way to save Ellen back. This story also tells us to think of the consequences first. We shouldn't follow Jim's path. All of us must lead by example, so others will learn the correct things from us.
I think that Jim's death is perhaps a good thing as he get to join Ellen in the other world. The loving couple get to be reunited together, just like what they wanted to. We must treasure what we have now if not we'll lose it later.

Old Ghost ( Chong Rong Jian ) // 11:37 PM.
This story is about an old man, Jim and the things that happen when he was a teenager. When Jim was a teenager, he had a childhood sweetheart, Ellen. She loved Jim very much and is always looking for Jim to play with. However, as Jim slowly grew up, he was exposed to the adult life in the city, causing his thinkings to slowly mature. Curiousity grew in him and caused him to make a mistake, falling for other woman and abandoning Ellen, someone who treasured him and played with him since young.
Personally, I feel that it was really a pity that the story had such a sad ending. It was a beautiful love between Jim and Ellen, but no one could stop time. Time causes people to change, and at times, the change might not be a good one. As a teenager who is slowly walking towards adulthood, lost of innocence in Jim could not be prevented. However, this could not be used as a reason to treat Ellen in the way he did. Ellen loved him from the bottom of her heart, but Jim did not take her seriously. Since Jim had grown up, he should be able to think more maturely, but what he was done very foolish. If he does not love Ellen, he should tell her and not toy with her.
Jim's father is also part of the cause to what had happen. Being a parent, he should set a good example for the younger generations to follow. But instead, he showed a bad example, causing Jim to follow his footsteps. Jim and Ellen's love was so pure and innocent when they were young, but it could not stay for long. In the process of growing, these changes cannot be prevented, so we should think carefully before doin anything, and not end like Jim, regretting only after Ellen's death.
Ellen's love for Jim is also praiseworthy. To be able to love a person for so long, waiting for him till the day they could be reunited. Ellen has done nothing wrong to deserve what she had received from Jim. She was loyal and nice to Jim, but Jim treated her so poorly. A innocent and nice girl like Ellen is hard to find, but yet Jim dumped her like a toy. Jim does not deserve the love of Ellen. Although Jim was regretful for what he has done to Ellen, they could only be reunited after such a long time.
Due to his own foolish mistake, Jim had to live a poor, sorrowful and lonely life. Compared to how hurt Ellen was, I feel that the punishment for Jim was nothing. Jim and Ellen could finally be reunited after so long and I hope that Jim would treasure Ellen and love her. We should not learn from Jim, making a foolish mistake and regretting over it for the rest of our lifes. As teenagers, we should always make careful decisions, as a wrong mistake could cause us to follow Jim's footsteps.

Old Ghost ( Jasmine Tay :D )
Jim Brennan, the main character woke up on his seventy-six years old birthday. He was lonely. He had been seeing the ghost of his childhood sweetheart, Ellen. He started thinking about the past. When Ellen was fifteen and he was sixteen, they loved each other. When Jim was seventeen, he went to the city. Under the influence of his flirty father, he betrayed Ellen and went out with the blonde lady. He went holidaying with the girl without saying goodbye to Ellen. Ellen fell sick and died. Jim came and regretted his action. Ellen waited for Jim. Jim died on his seventy-six years old birthday. They were finally together.
However, not all mistakes can be amended. Just like the mistake made by Jim. Jim is very immature and irresponsible. However, as teenage, making mistake is part of growing up and learning to be mature. Luckily, he realized that he was wrong. Maybe it was not too late as Ellen was still waiting for him. The story had taught us that making mistakes can be scary. We should always think before we do. Everyone made mistakes but we should learn from the mistakes.
The ending of the story is really touching. Although Ellen waited for Jim very long, her hard work was finally paid off at last. We should learn from her to be loyal to the people we love and do not give up no matter what.
Trust is something very important among people. We trust people we love. Thus, we will get hurt if they betray us. We should not betray the trust people give us. Trust takes time to build while only need a second to destroy. Thus, we should cherish the trust people give us and will not do things that will betray them.
The story also reflected to us that parents are always our role model. They have a huge influence on us and would affect the way we behave and think in the future. Just like Jim, his father was also one of the reasons why he betrayed Ellen. Thus, parents should really mind their own behavior and thinking in front of their children.
Lastly, we should not take things for granted. Just like Jim did not cherish Ellen in the first place. Something may not come back to us once we lost it. Example, a dead person. Regretting and crying over spill milk is useless. Thus, from today onward, cherish everyone and everything around us.

Old Ghost (Yaxin) // 7:38 PM.
After reading “Old Ghost”, I felt very sorry for Jim. He realized how much he loves Ellen, when she died. He was only twenty-one then. He could not forgive himself for hurting Ellen and could not forget the love for Ellen, even at the brim of death. He died when he was seventy-six, which means he stayed single for fifty five years!
He learnt his lessons. But he was influenced by his father. This shows that during the growing years of a child, the adults around plays an important role. Jim was badly influenced by his father. His father only felt “half married”. His father taught him the ropes of cheating. His father cheated on his mother and taught Jim to cheat on Ellen. Jim abandoned Ellen for the woman that can give him what he wanted, what Ellen kept it till her death bed.
Jim only understands that Love does not equal to having sex when Ellen was died. I believed that Jim learnt a lesson, a hard one. But it was too hard. He did not get a chance to amend and make compensation to Ellen. He was guilt stricken for life. He stayed single for his life and regretted and reflected his acts for his whole life. He died with no one to attend to his funeral, perhaps no one even knows. This might be his retribution.
This story taught us a few things. First, the influence the adults can make in a child’s life during the growing years of a child. The adults around plays an important role of ensuring the proper growth of moral values of child. The child will learn from the adults around. Hence, the adults around a growing child must be able to set a good example.
Second, what love means. We must remember that love does not equal to having sex. Loving a person does not mean allowing the person to have actions like this with you.
Lastly, we must make the right decision. Decision making is essential in daily life. Some decisions made maybe right, some maybe wrong. But the decisions will certainly cause a change in a way or another. Some mistakes maybe small, some may cost your life. Hence, we must always think twice before we make any decisions, for it may affect your life forever.

Review on the story // 7:25 PM.
This story narrates about a dying man and his childhood crush. When they were young, Ellen had a crush on Jim, the main character. She always wanted to have a date with him but he would declined them. Being influenced by his flirty father, Jim moved to the city. There, he had lots of social parties and he followed his father's footsteps. On the other hand, poor Ellen was still pinning for him to come back. Sadly, she died. As Jim started to grow old, he went back to his old house for his remaining days. Occasionally, he would see the ghost of Ellen. She would ask him whether he wished to go out to play. At Jim's moment, he finally said that he was free to go to play.To me, I think Jim is a stupid man. He would not appreciate Ellen's love to him. Why wouldn't he just try to go out for a date with Ellen? It wouldn't hurt or harm anyone. I also think that Jim is an immature elderly man despite of his age. It is his last moment till he finally figured out that he should go for a date. It is so unfortunate of Jim to had this kind of useless father. Being a parent, he should have the strong responsiblity to nurture his son to become someone who is not a flirt or somone who is not serious towards relationships and true love. He should be a role model for Jim or someone for him to look up from. Speaking the truth, I think that Ellen is pretty dumb while loyal. Who would wait for somone to come back when his decision to leave his childhood is so firm? It is a waste of time. Time and tide waits for no man. She should continue her life. I must admit that her efforts really paid. If not, Jim is worse than beasts. In real life, would someone really waits for her childhood sweetheart for so many years?Dai Jia Yi

This story is about Jim Brennan, the main character in the story. He wakes up on his seventy-sixth birthday, feeling lonely and keeps thinking about the past. Jim kept seeing the ghost of his childhood sweetheart, Ellen. Jim and Ellen loved each other when Jim was sixteen. Bu when he turned seventeen, Jim married a girl he met in business his father wanted him to. He constantly rejects Ellen when she asks Jim out to play. Ellen died at nineteen and Jim knew then how much Ellen meant to him. He regrets making the mistake of hurting a girl whom he has loved.
I think Jim is an immature person before Ellen’s death. He does not think of the consequences of his actions and only regrets it when everything is too late. I also think that Jim is a very selfish person. He tells Ellen that he does not want her anymore without even thinking whether Ellen will be sad or not.
We can relate this to our lives by learning from Jim’s mistakes. We should not be like him, making decisions without thinking what the end will be. If we do, we will end up like him, regretting about his mistakes but there’s no way to make up for it.

Old Ghost (Xinyan) // 5:59 PM.
Old Ghost is a story about a man called Jim Brennan, who is regretful of what he had done wrongly when he was young. Jim was thinking back in the past, on his seventy-sixth birthday. A lonely old man that lived all by his own, he reminisced about his past, when there are people celebrating his birthday for him. When it was then, he received many birthday gifts and cards, but now there were none. The story finally started when he ‘saw’ Ellen Kelly, his already-dead childhood sweetheart.
Back in many years time, Ellen and Jim was a lovely pair. They laughed, they played, they talked, and loved each other, everything was going on smoothly. Until, Jim abandons Ellen for not giving want he wanted. He then chose a wrong path in loving another girl he met later. In the following year, he brought the girl holidaying, not even saying a goodbye to Ellen. Leaving Ellen, sad, sickly and alone, Ellen was ill and died when Jim finally returns to Ireland. Instantly, Jim matures, but it was too late.
After reading the story, I think Jim was very immature at that point of time. He choose to abandon such a innocent girl who had loved him so much, just because she refused to give him what is had reserved for her marriage bed. Resulting to Ellen’s death, Jim regrets and found out that he still loved Ellen, and even more now, but it was all too late. In his lonely years, when he lived alone, he longed for Ellen. From this, I can also say that Jim does not think of the consequences. If he had not abandon Ellen, he would have been living happily with Ellen and their many children, not longing for Ellen, regretting for what he had done.
Jim perspective of the world is always negative. He seems to hate the world and thinks the world is too complicated. He think that everything had changed as time goes by, and he prefer the past, when it was quieter and children could play on the streets. Jim does not like anything in modern world, which is probably one of the reasons why he is so lonely.
Though Jim had gone through a sad and lonely live, but in the end of the story, Jim dies and joins his loved, Ellen, living happily in another world. Though both main characters of the story had died, they still lived happily together in another world, which I think is also quite a happy ending. At least Jim got what he longed for, and Ellen was happy that Jim wants her now.
From this story, I also learnt that we have to make our decisions carefully, think of the consequences. Or else leading to Jim’s mistake, letting him regret for a lifetime.

Old Ghost Reflection
This story is about a man spending a lonely birthday by himself but found him talking to his ex-lover who was dead. In the story, it gives us the message of cherishing the things we had now and not take them for granted. In the story, it has many beautiful and unforgettable phases like “soft as silence”. This is not very outstanding in the story but it played a very important part in the story.
I personally think that this story is sad but beautiful at the same time. Initially, I think that this story is nothing special. However, to the ending part, it is so touching. The ending seems to be so important so I think it is a very personal style and unique.
From the sentence structure to the plotline, it presented a very interesting story that is likeable by all age groups. Reading this story can really improved a person’s grammar and vocalbury. Overall, this story is interesting yet sad, beautiful and touching. The words used are powerful, perfect and unforgettable. I hope everyone can get a chance to read it and learn from the author.

Old Ghost Reflection
This story is about a guy, named Jim and his lover Ellen.
Jim should not have abandoned his lover; his thinking was not mature when he was young. But after that, he realized that he was wrong and went back to search for Ellen, his lover. But due to the illness Ellen had, Ellen was on the brink of death, and died when founded by Jim. Jim was regretful and lived on until he was 76 and die.
I feel that this is a very nice and true story. The story is very touching and real, although it was quite sad at the end. The story had good details as the author made a good description on the things and the characters. But there were some description which made me confused and I don’t think that it is necessary. But still the description of the things and the characters made the story came to ‘life’. It enables the reader to see what is going on due to the excellent description in the story. I also feel that this story is rather simple and easy to understand; also it is easy to guess what is going to happen at the end of the story.
After reading this, I also feel that we should not take things for granted. We must learn to treasure the people around us when they are alive, but not when they are dead.

Old Ghost [Amelia]
This story tells us about how the main character, Jim Brennan, was feeling lonely on his seventy-sixth birthday as he there was no one to celebrate it with and he did not receive any birthday cards either. He thought of the past and was extremely remorseful because of what he had done.
He had a childhood sweetheart, Ellen, whom he broke up with as he had met another girl. Upon finding out that Ellen had passed away not long after, he was conscience-stricken but there was nothing he could do by then. He was full of melancholy and realised how selfish and immature he was when he was younger. Distressed and grief-stricken, he wished that he could be with Ellen again. He started to have illusions of Ellen and even talked to what seemed to be the spirit of Ellen. Hence the name 'old ghost'.
I think this story relates to teenagers like us as well. We are all constantly exposed to temptations that may lead us in the wrong direction. It is up to us to be intelligent enough to stay away from such temptations and to reject them when necessary. At this age, we are highly impressionable and may be easily influenced by our peers. However, we have to learn to think for ourselves so that we would not be led astray.
In the story, Jim did not cherish Ellen and only regretted when she died unexpectedly. This shows that we have to treasure what we have and the people around us. We should never take things for granted. Time is also of grave importance as we would never know what is going to happen tomorrow.

Old Ghost (Ni Wen) // 2:13 PM.
This story talks about an old man, Jim Brennan. In this story, he is celebrating his seventy-sixth birthday but nobody was there to celebrate with him. He thinks about his past, about his childhood sweetheart, Ellen. He regretted hurting Ellen, and only realizing her importance after she died from an illness. In the end, Jim died and joins Ellen.
I find that this story is very interesting. It also tells to treasure what we have if not we would end up regretting what we did in the past when we are old. Through this story, we saw how Jim changed from being very immature when young to a remorseful old man. He took the things he had for granted and when he starts to treasure them, it was already too late. Nowadays, many people also take things for granted, they do not think of the consequences and just act as they liked, hurting others. When you do something wrong when you are young, you might not face the consequences but eventually, you will face it. Like Jim, he only faced the consequences when he became old. Turning him into a lonely old man.
This story teaches us to think before we act. It has a very nice storyline, yet at the same time it also teaches us lessons in life.

OLD GHOST (GLENDA! :D)The story, Old Ghost, is talking about a seventy-six year old man, Jim Brennan, regretting what he had done when he was young. He loved a girl name Ellen Kelly when he was young but he had chosen the wrong path in loving another girl he had met. In the end, Ellen died and there was no use regretting over what he had done.
Jim seems to have given up on the world as he thinks that it is too complicated. He abhors the people in the modern society had done, for example the teens. He cannot stand the way they dress – tights and miniskirts, and also the rape cases that are happening; he labels all these as sins. He is a very lonely person and this resulted in him talking to Ellen, his dead lover.
On his seventy-sixth birthday, he reminisced about his past about the times he had with Ellen. When he was sixteen, he was in love with Ellen and they spent most of their time together. But when Jim accompanied his father on a business trip, Jim changed his mind, he totally forgotten about Ellen and found a new girl. He then decided to leave Ellen as he loved the girl he met on the trip more than he loved Ellen. He plucked up his courage and told Ellen that he is going leave her for good. At the age of eighteen, Ellen died. Jim realized that he loved Ellen more, but it was too late to regret. In his seventy six years in life, he only truly loved Ellen and he yearns to join Ellen in the other side of the world. Finally, his wish came true.
After reading this story, I realized that everyone should make the right decisions in life and not regret in the end as it is too late. We should not be reckless in deciding things, what’s done cannot be undone.

Old ghost ;D Hui Shan ;D // 10:36 PM.
This story is about a 76 years old man by the name Jim Brennan. It was Jim Brennan's 76 birthday and he was all alone in his house. At that time, he spent his birthday thinking about his past and his childhood sweetheart, Ellen. The story went on to explain how he had made a serious mistake in his past causing him to lose Ellen. He was remorseful and had regretted for what he did. In the end, Jim had passed away and he was soaring through the moonlight with Ellen in his hands. And from there on, they had lived happily together.
I felt that this story is very touching and sad as it shows the love between Jim and Ellen. It also shows what had happen after Ellen died and before she died. Despite, Jim telling Ellen that he did not want her and wanted to break up with her, Ellen did not give up and she waited for Jim patiently. However, she had passed away due to illness in the end.
From this story, I had also learn that we have to think before we act in order to prevent things that will make us regretful from happening. Jim was immature and he had left Ellen. However, Ellen had passed away due to sickness, and by the time he came back, it was already too late. He was remorseful and had regretted for leaving her in the first place. To prevent such things from happening, we must always think of the consequences before we act. Although, we made mistakes sometime and mistakes cannot be avoided, we should try to prevent making any mistakes if we can. Even though there are mistakes, we cannot give up. We had to move forward instead of getting stuck at the same point where we cannot make any progress or improvements.

Old Ghost (Joanne) // 10:06 PM.
I think this article is about an old man named Jimmy Brennan. On his birthday where he is lonely and old, he recalls what happened in the past to him and his childhood sweetheart,Ellen as he misses her.Jim is a person that is easily swayed in his relationship. This is because after he went to the city and met a new lady, he broke up with Ellen, that was his childhood sweet heart once. I find that his actions were too rash as he should have thought about his choice of leaving Ellen for another woman carefully.
At the end of the story, Jim died to be with Ellen. I feel that Jim's death was probably good for Ellen and himself because it was only at that point of time that he could play with Ellen. At the same time, feelings of sadness confuse me as i find that it is a pityful fact that it was only when Jim died that he could enjoy with Ellen. When Jim was alive, he had too many things to do that he couldn't have time for Ellen.I feel that this story teaches us two morals. The first one is, make the right choice or you will regret it forever. As Jim did not make the right choice when he was young, he regretted it until the very last day he lived. The second one is,do not fall into the trap of temptation. This is connected to the story in a way because Jim fell into temptation and made a wrong mistake. In conclusion, i find that we should make the best choice in what ever we do so that we would not regret it.

Old Ghost Reflection [Yuqi] // 8:15 PM.
The article starts on Jimmy Brennan, the main character of the story's seventy-six years old birthday. It is a touching story that describe about the past of Jimmy, including Ellen, the girl who he had hurt. I can tell he is very lonely because no one was celebrating his birthday with him. Not even a letter or birthday card. However, he was persisting on 'talking' with Ellen because he regretted for his action when he was young that had hurt her. He miss her so much.
Because of his talking to the air in other people's eyes, i think that is the reason why people think that he had mentally sickness. He had some illness so that he can talk to the 'old ghost'.
The story ends off with the present Jim, lying on his bed waiting for death to come knocking on his door. Ellen came and took Jim away, both of them soaring to the moonlight.
Jim is very immature character in the article when he was young. He let his father to decide his marriage and marry with someone that he did not like at all. He and Ellen love each other however, although Ellen was still waiting for her love and miss him so much, she did not tend to see him. Finally, he realised that he was wrong and wanted to make up with Ellen, she had died of a illness.
It is such a sad but interesting story. I am looking forward to another one.

Old Ghost ReflectionThis story is about Jim Brennan, a seventy-six year old man who ditched his childhood sweetheart Elle, for a pretty blonde girl he met at a party during a business trip with his father. Then, Ellen dies and Jim wakes up from the holidaying he was doing with the blonde. Many years passed and Jim is now a lonely elderly who can see Ellen's ghost. In the end, he dies and can finally join Ellen in his afterlife.
I find Jim a very sad person. He made a reckless decision of leaving Ellen and later regretted for the rest of his life. He is indeed immature, but most of us are just like him. We make a mistake without knowing the consequences and in the end, it ruins future. No matter how you try to turn back time, you will find it futile. At least Jim did try to change by staying single, waiting for the day to be with Ellen. Not many can be like him and turn over a new leaf. From the story, you can see that Jim did not treasure Ellen and only when she was gone did he realised how much he loved her. It is exactly the same situation that we face every day. We take the things we have for granted, sometimes even exploiting them. However, when we lose them, we finally look back and regret not given them the credit due, and often it is too late to do so.

I think that this article is about desolation after the death of a loved of a love one. This story has a negative side of it and while reading the story I have this feeling of melanchony and despair. Jim may have committed a sin but still he was still young then. Youth often brings about many tempting desires that are wrong most of the time. Although we are aware that these are sins we should never commit, we still commit them as we do not have enough self-control to discipline ourselves.
Jim does not really want to commit the sin that he has committed. He has regretted for it after his years and sadly to say it was already too late. What a yuong man doesn't know about is the fact that he has not experienced it and i therefore woefully ignorant. This means that a person will never know the experience of a certain thing unless he goes through it. If he is allowed to walk back to the past, I believe taht he will go down the correct path, knowing that if he again commits the same mistake, it would thus be his own wrong and will and therefore he should be punished.

This story is talking about a man called Jimmy Brennan, main character, who was seventy-six years old. I can tell that he was a lonely man as it was his seventy-six birthday but no one was there to celebrate his birthday. Not even anyone had sent a letter to him to wish him happy birthday. He was alone at home. He was recalling how last time he lived with Ellen. He did a big mistake by giving up with Ellen and broke up with her. He was so immature for doing this. By giving up Ellen, he did not think about Ellen's feelings and just thinking about himself to find an escape route.
However after all, he had known his mistake and was regretted for what he did. He kept thinking that Ellen was still with him, he even talk and able to see her all the time. He was in love with Ellen and Ellen was deep in his heart. Hence, he misses Ellen so much that he had some illness making him talking to Ellen the “old ghost”. This seem that he was having some mental problems as he was able to see Ellen. I think it was because he always talking to “Ellen” who was not there, thus no one went near him. Hence, no one celebrates Birthday with him.
This story is an interesting one I look forward for another story.

This story mainly revovles around the childhood life of the main characters, Jim and Ellen. The story starts off with Jim, now being a seventy six year old man, reflecting of his past and all his wrongdoings towards his childhood sweetheart, Ellen. He was remorseful for what he did to Ellen. Jim and Ellen were in love with each other when Jim was sixteen years old. When Jim turns seventeen, he followed his father on a business trip. His father was not a good role model for Jim, being the lustful man he is. Jim carelessly followed the path to wrongdoings, like what his father did. Immature Jim broke up with Ellen for the other girl. He did not realised that he has hurt Ellen deeply. Despite the fact that Jim have abandoned her, Ellen waited patiently for Jim, hoping to have an enviable lovelife with him one day. Unfortunately, Ellen died at the age of nineteen due to a serious illness. It was only then that Jim mature and realised that he have done much wrong to Ellen. The death of Ellen rings a bell in him, and Jim regretted for what he did. The story ends off with the present Jim, at the age of seventy six, lying on his bed waiting for death to come knocking on his door. Ellen came and took Jim away, both of them soaring to the moonlight. Jim is a careless character who follow other people's path blindly. The immaturity of his behavior when he was young have made him live with remorse for the rest of his live. He did not think of the consequences behind his action and have cause a terrible ending to his life.Jim's action have shown us to cherish everything in life that we have. One wrong footing on our journey of life can cause great harm to us or even the people around us. Although mistakes are inevitable, we must learn from our mistake and not do it again. Whatever we do, there will always be consequences behind it. We must think out of the box before we do anything. This story thus relates to real life situation. The moral behind this story is to think before doing anything, as one wrong mistake could cause grave impact on our life. Cherish what we have now before it's too late. We must make wise decisions and also to think ahead before we act. I think that the ending of the story whereby Jim died is perhaps, a good ending. As Jim have live his whole life full of regrets for his wrongdoings towards Ellen, perhaps his death is the only way for him to repent what he did wrong to Ellen. His death also allow Ellen to meet him again and both parties were happy.

Old Ghost Reflections // 9:47 PM.
. [aiying] .Jim Brennan is the main character in this story, Old Ghost. Like what everyone says, Old Ghost is a touching and romantic story revolving about the past of Jim. Jim was thinking about the past in his lonely years. Jim kept seeing the ghost of the girl whom he had hurt, Ellen, now. Remorse and regret engulfed him.
At first, I wondered why the story is named ‘Old Ghost’. I guess perhaps that Old Ghost refers to Jim in his old age. The ‘Ghost’, probably means an empty soul within him – the result of hurting someone who loved him deeply and now the lost of love. Due to the mistake he had made, he now had to suffer in loneliness and stayed in the shadow of remorse.
I think youngsters nowadays should reflect on this story. Jim represents us youngsters. When young, he was rash and immature. That is like some of us, who just do not think before taking into action. Some youth take drugs, commit crimes, and waste their time by doing meaningless things. They might think it is cool or just plainly do not spare a thought for their future. I would not judge whether the life they are leading is right or wrong, but I would advise them to think of the road ahead.
Look at Jim. Not thinking about the consequences, he broke up with Ellen for another girl who may not be as faithful and pure as his childhood sweetheart may. He did not consider what life would be like for Ellen afterwards. Now that he was old and alone, he looked back at all that he had done. If he had not abandoned Ellen, he would be enjoying his life now, carrying grandsons and everything that you can picture about a happy family. I was glad that at least he regretted. This relates to how we should make decisions in life. Never do things that we know we will eventually regret. Make every decision carefully.
Small decisions may not bother but matter.

Old Ghosts~(sheena:DDDDDDDDDDDD *clapsclaps!* i did hwk!:DDDD) // 9:30 PM.
This story is about a man named Jim Brennan who lives alone. It was his seventy-six birthday, yet, it seemed like no one cared or knew. He spent his birthday thinking about the past when he was with Ellen, his childhood sweetheart. He was remorseful for he did wrong to Ellen, memories of Ellen started to flash in his mind. One day, he went with his father to a business trip during the summer vacation. His father was not a good role model for Jim being the lustful man that he was. Still, Jim followed his father's wrong doings and caused Ellen to hurt.
Being so immature, he told Ellen that he did not want her anymore. He did not think about the consequences of his actions and broke up with her. Ellen was patient, she hoped and waited for Jim to return to her until she passed away with a sickness. And only when she left, Jim started to realise that he had lost the most wonderful gift from above. Perhaps, the death of Jim was a good thing, which meant the reconcilation of the two childhood sweethearts.
Relating this to our lives, we can see that one wrong footing can leave us with nothing but emptiness and regret. We must think of the consequences before we act, it is the same for everything that we do in our everday live. What we choose to do now can affect us for life, still, we have to move on. Don't learn from Jim, do not follow blindy, as blind sheeps do fall down if not careful. Treasure what we have now, do not wait till it is lost and start treasuring it only when it's gone. This "it" here refers to anything, so open your eyes big before taking any step. Actions come with consequences, make the right choice today.

Reflection on Old Ghosts by A.J. McKenna [HanLing] // 9:29 PM.
The story starts where Jim Brennan wakes up on his seventy-sixth birthday. He was a lonely old man that lived alone. He reminisced about his past where people who cared celebrated his birthday for him. Ellen Kelly, his dead childhood sweetheart then visits him and the story unfolds. This story is explains to readers how Jim had made a grave mistake by taking Ellen for granted. Jim and Ellen were in love when Jim was sixteen. However, at the age of seventeen, Jim chooses lust over love. He then abandons sick Ellen and goes on a holiday with his new love.
At this point, he was an immature boy who did not cherish Ellen. Lust had hid his love for her.
On his return, Ellen had already died. She was only nineteen then. Jim matures instantly. He regretted abandoning her.
For over fifty years, he had longed for Ellen. Finally, on his seventy-sixth birthday, he reunites with his childhood sweetheart. The story ends where Jim and Ellen soar hand in hand into the moonlight.
The story teaches us that we must cherish everything we have. In life, we must learn to make wise decisions. Mistakes are inevitable, but we must repent before we realize it’s too late. In ‘Old Ghosts’, Jim had made a grave mistake by abandoning Ellen. However, he had only realized his fault when Ellen died. The dead cannot be revived and he should not have left her.
It also shows us that we should think twice before doing anything. Rash decisions may lead to lifelong regret, just like what happened to Jim.
This story is very interesting and gives us life lessons on maturing as we grow up.

This is a sad and touching story about a guy name Jim Brennan and his love story. It was Jim's seventy-six birthday and he was thinking of his past and the mistakes he had made in life that made him regretted. This story is about Jim letting down his childhood sweetheart, Ellen and marrying a girl he met in business as his father wanted him to. During his childhood times, he constantly rejected Ellen when she asked him out to play.
From this, we can see that Jim is immature and did not have opinion of his own and followed everything his father asked him to. Despite the fact that Jim knew how much Ellen loved her, he still rejected her when she asked him out. This shows how selfish and heartless Jim was to Ellen, he even told Ellen that he did not want her anymore.
But soon after Ellen's death caused by a serious illness, Jim started to regret leaving his childhood sweetheart at the beginning and his mind matured. This story is telling us that we must cherish everything around us so that we will not regret in the end when we could not do anything to save it. This story also shows that we should think before we make any decisions in life as it may cause grave regret. We should also face every decisions with maturity so that we will not make leave any regret when we die.
This story ends off with Jim and Ellen soaring through the moonlight and they lived happily forever. I felt that it is a touching and romantic story as it reaches the end.

I think that Jim was was immature and his actions had caused him to lose oine of his most important person of his life. His actions was also influneced by his father who as also not a good husband to his wife.Jim followed his father's footsteps which caused him to make a lot of mistakes. He was also very selfish when he told Ellen that he does not want her anymore.Although he may not love her anymore,he should know how much Ellen loves him and he should not talk to her in this manner.
This story also tells us that we must bear responsibility for our actions .Everything we do we must pay the price. Before we do anything we must think twice,as we would not regret our actions later on in life.

[Old Ghost] xingqinlala!~~
This story is basically about how a guy named Jim Brennan who made a wrong decision in life in letting the girl he used to love Ellen go when he was young.
It was Jim's seventy-six birthday when he began to think of what he had done in the past, a mistake that made him regretted for life. You can see how miserable his life was from how he never got married to the girl that made him left Ellen.
Ellen was his childhood sweetheart and had always asked him to play with her. But, Jim has never failed to reject her. From this perspective, you can see that he was really mature. However, by bringing his girlfriend back to Dublin to show off to his fellow people, it shows that he was totally immature and insensitive to other people's feeling.
Also, he was a person who never think thrice before doing anything. He was also a person who did not cherish anything around him. He would only do so when he lost something and only when he found out that it really meant something to him, something of value would he then cherish them, for eg. Ellen.
When Ellen died, nobody broke the news to him. However, when he came back, he learnt of the news only after she has passed away a few years after. He only knew how much wrong he had done when she passed away.
Also, he was a loyal and faithful guy through the way he stayed single and how he missed her terribly till the day he died. From this story, it has taught me alot. It taught me to think thrice before making any decisions in life. As every decisions plays an important part of life.
THE END.

Old Ghosts [Jielin] // 8:59 AM.
Old Ghosts is a sad story about a man named Jim Brennan who made a wrong choice when he was young. It starts with Jim reminiscing his life on the day he turns seventy-six. Jim hates the world, choosing to think negatively about everything, for example, saying that "'Grand, thank God. Yourself?' 'Couldn't be better.' Life is strangled with polite lies. " He is probably so bitter because of the regret he feels upon choosing a girl he picked up on his business trip with his father rather than Ellen, his childhood sweetheart. He brings the girl back to Ireland, Dublin, to show her off, even telling Ellen that he did not want her anymore when he came back from his business trip. When he comes back again, a few years later, he finds Ellen dead from an illness and finally matures, realising his grave mistake of choosing someone who can only give the one thing that Ellen cannot give him because she is saving it for her marriage bed.
I think Jim is a person who does not think about the consequences of his actions. He only regrets not choosing Ellen when she is dead. If he had properly considered his choices when he was younger, he would not have ended up living his life so bitterly when he was old, instead, he would have loyal, pure and faithful Ellen by his side as Ellen's condition would have improved without him saying he did not want her anymore. He is also very immature, not choosing Ellen because she refused to give him what the other girl gave him.
The ending of the story is when Jim dies and joins Ellen together in another world. I feel that the ending is bittersweet as it ends happily but has a twist of sadness in it. Sadness from all the years that Jim could have had with Ellen all wasted and all the regret and guilt he feels, happiness as they are finally a couple.
I can relate the story to my life by learning from Jim's mistakes, thinking twice before doing anything recklessly or jumping to any conclusions. Also, I can learn to behave in a more mature manner when faced with difficult circumstances, thinking ahead, and considering the consequences and impact my decision will have on the people around me.

Old Ghost [[Huixiannnnn<3 :D]]
I think that the article is about the life of the two characters, Jim and Ellen. It is more of a love life. Basically, Jim grew up and went through life, whereas Ellen died wheh she was only eighteen. So Jim missed Ellen a lot, and keeps thinking of her. After some time, Jim found a girl, and does not want Ellen anymore. Ellen was sad, and did not come back to look for him anymore. But Jim regrets his decision. And the story ended when Jim died on his bed, wanting Ellen back.
I think that Jim is a man who will only do finish his work first before doing other things. A more down-to-earth and serious person. During his childhood, he often reject Ellen when she asked him to play with her. So Ellen was always unhappy about it. Although Jim knows that Ellen was sad and disappointed, he still stay that way. He is also determined in whatever he do. He tags along with his dad in work.
Jim is also immature in making his choices or decision. He should not have abandon Ellen when she was so sick. He didnt thiknk that Ellen will be heartbroken. he just did anything he thinks is right.
This article actually teaches us that making the decision has a lot of impact on our life. There will not be anymore second chances to change it. So, we cannot be reckless and must think before we jump. Also, it teaches us to cherish everything we have now, rather than cherish it after it is gone. Most importantly, do not take anything for granted, because everything we have comes from hardwork, once you lose it, it will mean forever.
Thankies:D

Old Ghosts (Yan Ni xDD ) // 7:30 PM.
This story is about Jim recalling about the past of his sweetheart Ellen. They were together and always hanging out with each other, until one day Jim went to overseas with his dad for a business trip. He found a new girl and told Ellen that he did not want her anymore, which tore her heart into pieces. However, he soon regrets his decision, and when he wanted to love Ellen back, she passed away.
I feel that Jim is very immature with his actions and did not think of the concequences of his actions and was ungrateful and did not treasure the time he spent with Ellen. Further more, he harsly told Ellen that he did not want her anymore despite the fact they did were childhood sweethearts and spent time together.
Although Jim did broke up with Ellen, but he regretted his actions and wanted Ellen back. The fact that both of them actually died was actually a happy ending for them as they could at last be together in another world of theirs and enjoy their time with each other. In conclusion, it's still a happy ending for them.
We can relate this with our lives by making the correct decision, and think of the concequences of our actions and the issues we deal with everyday of our lives. We should not learn from Jim as he seriously regretted his actions and there was no way to turn back for him. Before he made up his mind to break up with Ellen, he should have questioned himself about his love for her and the concequences of his actions. We have to make decisions everyday, not only that, we should learn to make the correct decision, and think of the concequences we'll be facing.

Old Ghos- Jasmine Goh(:The article is about a character Jim, sort of living in his own world of fantasy out of boredom. He was somehow recalling what happened in the past. He is in very close relationship with Ellen a childhood good neighbour. Ellen is always asking him to go out and play together. Jim always never takes their time spent together seriously although they were just like childhood sweethearts. They were together until Ellen was seventeen. At then, Jim went overseas to work with his father. Both of them separated as Jim found another girl. He even told Ellen harshly that he do not want her anymore despite Ellen being sick. Ellen eventually died of sickness and so did Jim eventually and both of them meet in another world.
I feel that Jim is very heatless and immature. Despite knowing that Ellen is sick, he still said those harsh words, he did not spare a thought for the sick. Instead, he is adding another blow to her. Even if there is no more feeling between them, they are still friends; friends should care for one another. His actions were also very immature. He did not think about what Ellen would feel. He just did things in his own way without thinking for others.
I feel that at least there is still a happy ending for them. At least they got back together. Despite Jim being regretted, al least they still meet in another world where they still can be together.
After reading this article, I feel that whatever we do, we have to think twice. Not everyone will be given a second chance when you go wrong things. For example this incident, at least they still met together in another life. But in life, not everything is like this. Once it’s over, it means over. Time files and does not go back. Since time will not go back, we must make a correct choice in whatever we do and fulfill it to the fullest! Also, we need to treasure the people around us. We must not wait till they are dead and them cry over it, feel sad over it. Cherish the times you have with your love own, treasure every second every minute and you will not regret when the person is dead.

This article is about an old man named Jim who revisited his past while going about his daily life. He had fallen for a girl with the name of Ellen at the age of sixteen. However there were various events that caused their relationship to turn sour. Eleen died at the age of nineteen and upon realising it, Jim's love was rekindled and till now Jim still has this undying love for Ellen.
Therefore we should always have a reminder, whether physically or mentally, to bar ourselves from committing wrongs which will bring about grave consequences.
I've also learned that as an individual, whatever you do will still have a big effect on someone if that particular plan which you have invoked has something to do with him/her. With that in mind, one should never bring about pain for someone else.

They broke up when Ellen was seventeen as Jim was attracted to the other girl. Jim brought the girl for holiday not even saying goodbye to pale Ellen who was eighteen. Who was alone with sickness teasing her young pink lungs, her heart dark with love. Ellen left Jim at the age of nineteen. When Jim knew about Ellen's death, he immediately matures and felt for Ellen once again. However, it was all too late.
I feel that Jim was too immature. He was also reckless not thinking about the consequences when he does things. Jim's attention can also be changed easily. He is a person who change his thoughts very easily. I feel that he should not do that to Ellen I felt sorry for Ellen. I felt glad that they were back together at the end it is still a beautiful ending, eventhough they met in their death world. They can still spend time with each other even after they passed away.
After reading this article, I learn something which is important. We should always think of the consequences before we does anything. We should try not to do things that we will regret. Regretting comes in two ways. One is when your regret is temporary, if time pass, you will slowly not think of it while the other is that you will regret for what you have done for your whole life and you will think of it for every mintue! For example, stealing or commiting any other crime like killing. You will regret for your whole life. There is no turning back. Once there is a scar there, it will stay with you forever. Therefore, it would be wise if we think before and do anything.

I think this article is about an old man named Jim. On his birthday where he is lonely and old, he recalls what happened in the past to him and his childhood sweetheart,Ellen. Jim is a person that is easily swayed in his relationship. This is because after he went to the city and met a new lady, he broke up with his Ellen that was his childhood sweet heart once.Talk about Jim's character and his actionstalk about the ending of the story n how u feel
