OLD GHOST (GLENDA! :D)

The story, Old Ghost, is talking about a seventy-six year old man, Jim Brennan, regretting what he had done when he was young. He loved a girl name Ellen Kelly when he was young but he had chosen the wrong path in loving another girl he had met. In the end, Ellen died and there was no use regretting over what he had done.

Jim seems to have given up on the world as he thinks that it is too complicated. He abhors the people in the modern society had done, for example the teens. He cannot stand the way they dress – tights and miniskirts, and also the rape cases that are happening; he labels all these as sins. He is a very lonely person and this resulted in him talking to Ellen, his dead lover.

On his seventy-sixth birthday, he reminisced about his past about the times he had with Ellen. When he was sixteen, he was in love with Ellen and they spent most of their time together. But when Jim accompanied his father on a business trip, Jim changed his mind, he totally forgotten about Ellen and found a new girl. He then decided to leave Ellen as he loved the girl he met on the trip more than he loved Ellen. He plucked up his courage and told Ellen that he is going leave her for good. At the age of eighteen, Ellen died. Jim realized that he loved Ellen more, but it was too late to regret. In his seventy six years in life, he only truly loved Ellen and he yearns to join Ellen in the other side of the world. Finally, his wish came true.

After reading this story, I realized that everyone should make the right decisions in life and not regret in the end as it is too late. We should not be reckless in deciding things, what’s done cannot be undone.
