Old Ghost Reflections
This story is about a seventy-six year old man whose name is Jim Brennan and he keeps imagining things which does not exist. He keeps thinking of his ex-girlfriend who was already dead and he even talks to her virtual image he sees. He feels very regretful and guilty for not choosing her as his girlfriend in the past. From his actions, I can infer that his action was rash and he did not think carefully before making such an important decision which could decide his future. Jim was also very immature in the past but since the death of his beloved Ellen, he matured so much.
However, it was already too late. Thus, from here, we can see that we have to cherish the time we have and do everything we want or it would be too late in the future. The author also uses many good phrases and interesting words that we might never use before. Next, the author also keeps describing Jim’s feelings and has many dialogues to spice up the story.
Lastly, the author ends the story with a perfect ending. Like the phrase “Killing two birds with a stone”, the author describes that Jims dies but he was able to be with Ellen in heaven and they would not be separated again. I like the style of ending as most stories end on a happy note and it was very touching.
After all the thoughts of being together with Ellen again and the reality which does not allow that, I thought that they would never be together again. However, the clever author gave a story a twist and made the story more interesting by ending with both Jim and Ellen being together. This was really something was that one would never have thought before.
After reading this story, I would like to recommend this to my friends as it was a story which was “one of its kind” and touching. This could prove the breaking point for emotional readers…
