“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” // 11:29 PM.
Plastic surgery is obviously an unnatural way to seek what we think as perfection or at least, improvement of the outer appearance. However, what contradicts me is that sometimes, for some reasons and under certain situations, I think that there is no wrong with wanting to alter your looks.
Being extra-cautious of your image is part of going through puberty for most teenagers. We especially mind about how others look at us and what they think of us. The media is also influencing our still-growing mind.
That makes many teenagers consider to alter and perfect themselves to their desired looks.
The media is dangerous, time and again brainwashing the society, especially the young ones, about what are seen as beautiful or ugly. They are capable of creating illusions as though you have to be physically attractive to survive in this world. Teenagers have to be careful not to be too obsessed with styling and dolling up themselves. There are more things for us to spend our energy on.
When we finally grow up and become a mature adult, though, we would have our own thinking. It would be interesting to find that would start to think: Were we investing too much time and effort in our physical appearances as teenagers?
What priorities more is of course our attitude and character. Although looks do matter, but I think caring about how we carry ourselves (neat, tidy, smart looking and not sloppy) is all we need to take note of.
Everything has its exceptions. Because of such things called ‘discrimination’ and ‘aesthetical views of the society’, people (or teenagers) who look like Frankenstein or simply has the ability to scare people off with their “outstanding” looks may suffer from low self-esteem in this practical world. If their looks really affect their daily life and they would feel happier altering parts of their bodies, I do not see the harm of having plastic surgery.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” // 11:11 PM.
Nowadays, it is very normal to find people who had undergo plastic surgery or considered plastic surgery before. Most teenagers are very conscious about their looks, even looking into small details such as the size of their eyes, the shape of their nose, or whether they have single or double eyelids.
Teenagers today are greatly affected by the media. When they see celebrities or their idols, they would sub-consciously want to look and behave the same way as them. Plastic surgery is a short but risky and expensive way of getting your desired look. Not everyone can afford to go for plastic surgery but a lot of people considered and wants to go for plastic surgery.
Plastic surgery is very expensive and not only that, it is unnatural. It may also not always work out. Healthy ways such as exercising and eating healthy can also make a person look better. The appearance does make the first impression but it is the character and personality of a person that surfaces after you know them better.
As the saying goes, “we should not judge a book by its cover”. We should also not judge a person’s personality and character by their looks.

Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. // 9:20 PM.
I agree that teenagers do care alot about their looks, some even to the extend of obsession. Teenagers now have to spend at least twenty minutes dressing themselves up before they would step out of their door. This is caused by many reasons. Some love their beauty alot and wants to appear in their best form in front of their friends. Some are just trying to follow the trend or to follow what the people around them do. Most teenagers prefer to follow how their idols dress, while some prefer to follow how their friends dress, in order not to be kicked out from the "latest fashion". Teenagers thus become more sensitive about their looks. While some are satisfied with their natural appearance, most do not have much confidence in themselves. Thus resorting to plastic surgery. Many adults are resorting to plastic surgery, causing teens to follow them as it is getting more popular. Many teens are thinking, "Many people undergo plastic surgery, so why can't I do the same?". Most teens think of plastic surgery, however, there are many restrictions to that. Firstly, most teens see their studies as something important, thus not having much time to even think of plastic surgery. Secondly, most parents will not allow their children to undergo plastic surgery. Most parents would want their children to concetrate on their studies and not getting obsessed over their looks. Thirdly, teenagers to not have the money to undergo plastic surgery. Most parents would not give their children money to undergo plastic surgery too. Lastly, plastic surgeries have a certain risk and may have side effects, causing teens to think twice before undergoing plastic surgery. Although many teens are considering plastic surgery to make themselves look better on the outside, what's inside is also important. One may look perfect on the outside, however if what's inside is something ugly, whatever is on the outside does not matter anymore. I do agree that teens are obsessd with their looks, but not many will actually undergo plastic surgeries.

I agreed that Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. In our world today, it is not surprising to know that your friends or classmates are obessed with their own looks. Nowadays, Every teenagers wants to follow the latest trend, they also want to be outstanding and stand out among the crowds. Teenagers care about their looks and they want to look cool and nice everywhere, even at school. This is why, discipline masters of the school often have to tell the students to follow the school rules, as students often break the school rules by wearing angles, folding up skirts etc. Such teenagers will also influence their friends and thus making their friends to be obessed with their looks too. Thus, it is now very common that teenagers are obessed with their looks. You will also not find it surprising if teenagers went for plastic surgery to alter their appearance as they want to attract even more attentions by changing their look. Teenagers probably think that becoming more beautiful or more handsome, means that they will be able to have more advantages and less disadvantages. Although, some parents may not agree with what their daughters and sons are doing, however, parents may not be able to stop their children from wanting to get what they want. Parents may be even persuaded by their own children, as having plastic surgery may have benefits on their children.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” // 8:36 PM.
The definition of beauty is becoming broader compared to the past. The past conventional concept of ideal beauty is fading away. Society has certainly exploited a teenagers’ obsession with beauty today. Both the guys and girls spend time in front of the mirror styling themselves before leaving their house. And they visit public toilets frequently to check if their hair is still in place.
Teenagers no longer have to follow certain procedures if they wish to look good or appealing. They choose an option within the limits of self-comfort. They no longer have to put on make up to look good, but they will pay more attention to other details like the clothes they wear or even go for plastic surgery. They see that they no longer have to do certain things to look good. There can be alternatives. Girls can do make up that does not look normal, but yet they feel they look good, despite not following convention. There are diverse alternatives provided by the fashion industry to help one look and feel good.
Modern times, there is a wide range of beauty products being advertise in all forms of media. Medical technology has also improved and is more advanced compared to the olden times. It is therefore easier for women who are beauty conscious to undergo surgery and enhance their physical features, leading to an increase in the amount of teenage girls, considering getting plastic surgery. Technological advancement has also greatly reduced the risk of plastic surgery.
Teenage, is the period when one is easily influence by their peers. Peer pressure has resulted in many seeking help to enhance their looks . Simply they do not want fall behind their friends in getting a boyfriend or girlfriend. The ultimate goal of beauty is to move beyond its injustice, being able to appreciate its magnificence while ignoring its perversions.
Teenagers nowadays are often more obsessed in their appearance in this fast changing world of trend. It is very common for teenagers to go for plastic surgeries nowadays. All of them would surely want to be the one who is the most stylish and they would not want to be left behind, thus, many of them resort to plastic surgery to have a better appearance. It may be because of the peer pressure around them which forces them to resort to harmful but effective methods.Teenagers nowadays tend to feel left out if they find that their friends are already having the latest faces while they do not have. Thus,i think that some of the teenagers are obsessed with their looks to get along with their friends better and to get into the "crowd".Mass media may also be one of the reasons why teenagers are so obssesed with their looks.Televisions, newspapers, magazines, posters and even the internet are often showing pictures of models with the latest fashion and models who shows off their beautiful figure representing different companies or products, making the teenagers jealous and wanting to be like those models shown all around. In order to be like them, some of them have no idea how and thus resoting to plastic surgery. Some internet pages or magazines also have companies trying to lure teenagers to patronize their shops. Most of them will put fake information, saying that they can make them look like a new and completely different person after patronizing their shops(mostly cosmetic shops, clinics which offers plastis surgeries),thus, tricking teenagers into it and earning their money through unscrupulous methods and thus polluting their young minds and make them into going for plastic surgeries to improve themselves. After all,i think that teenagers should not try having any plastic surgeries as there is still a possible risk of them getting harmed. They should focus more on studying at this age, looks are not the main priority. With a beautiful look but a stupid brain is of no use.
" Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. "
Living in this fast changing world, teenagers often resort to many means and ways in order to be listed in the 'latest trend'. Many have turn to piercing on their body and plastic surgery to make them look cool. Many people think that it was under great influence and peer pressure of their friends which make teengaers easily up on hook. This topic is actually debatable. Teenagers are now too sensitive over their own looks and what people think of them. They would rather undergo a risky operation of plastic surgery in order to 'improve' their appearance. However, they did not think of the consequences. Operation are risky, and it does not guarantee one that it will surely succeed. There are many cases of operation failure, but yet, many people will still part with their money in hope of having better looks. I think that we should have confidence in ourself and not to have low self-esteem. As students, we should just concentrate on our studies and not on our appearance. Having an extra certificate may earn us a job, but having an appealing look may not. Thus, I agree with the above sentence, but I do not encourage such things to happen.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” // 1:57 PM.
Teenagers nowadays are becoming more obsessive about their looks mainly because of the strong peer pressure force exerted by the mass media, their friends and the fast changing world. Some of these teenagers are so obsessed about their looks that they even turn to body piercing and even plastic surgery so that they can be “in” like their idols and friends. I feel that teenagers should not be so obsessed about their looks mainly because the main role of a student is to study and work hard so that they can pass their exams. In my opinion, students and teenagers are easily swayed towards peer pressure as they are still growing up and are developing mentally and physically. The mass media is also one of the main causes why teenagers have become so obsessive about their looks. The television advertisements are bombarded with models showing off their slim figures and promoting certain companies which can change your looks and make you a new person. The internet also spreads many false ideas to young and innocent minds. The mass media is one of the main causes mainly because children and teenagers nowadays can have easy access to it and are easily influenced by false ideas. Therefore, I can conclude that teenagers should not be so obsessive about their looks and instead, concentrate on their studies.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” [by EUGENIA HOU YI FAN(7)]
Nowadays, it is true that teenagers are too obsessed with their
looks. For example, if you go into a toilet, you will be able to see teenagers
tying their hair, that's still the preliminary! As time goes by, they will start commenting and saying that they want to have double eye-lids, it's nicer. Or perhaps others, but it’s just all about their looks.I feel that this is happening to almost all teenagers, it's common that teenagers nowadays are very concerned about their looks. They are afraid that someone will say that they look ugly or abnormal. But however, not all teenagers are like that, some just feels that they are ugly themselves like why others are perfect and they are not. Not only do these two types, some teenagers not want to be left out by their group of friends. For example, they have a group of friends that are very fashion, so as to not feel left out; they will care a lot about their looks and at the same time, try to be like their friends. I feel that looks are what we were given by god; we should not do any other things to modify our original looks.
Teenagers should
think doing plastic surgery may not let them look nicer instead, it may spoil
their looks further. For instance, if someone visits an inexperienced surgeon, there goes his look. I think if they are disfigured, they will regret more. Our looks may change as time goes past. Furthermore, we are still students. I don’t think that plastic surgery is suitable now at this time. Schools have rules for us students to obey. After doing plastic surgery, they may be banned from school or may be given demerits for their inappropriate appearance; like make-ups or tattooed eyebrows. I also think that doing plastic surgery at this age will affect the people around us. Some students may be jealous and also do plastic surgery. In conclusion, I feel that teenagers should not be obsessed with their looks and furthermore should not consider getting plastic surgery. There will be no turning back.

For me,I feel that this is a very stupid state of thought. It is what is in the inside of a person that matter in the future.People who have actually went for plastic surgery sometimes have failed operations. They not only lost their money, but also their pride, dignity and health. Personally,I look fat and chubby.I feel that people do not like my looks, but that does not mean I have to do plastic surgery.Lets say that I have the money to do it.After the surgery,I would have excrutiating pains on my surgical wounds and I would suffer a lot during recovery. As a teenager,I know a lot of us want to look like our idols. As our hormones cause physical and mental changes in us,we might want to change ourselves.Plastic surgery would definitely be the best choice for them,as least that what they think.Take Michael Jackson for example, after countless plastic surgeries to make himself look like a white,he now does not even look like a human, occasionally some parts of his face fall off as the skin is so weak,it cannot hold on to the face. In conclusion,I think us teenagers should not be to obseesed with their looks and should be happy with the way they are.

To many teenagers out there, looks is a sensitive topic. All of us are concerned about how others view us, whether we are pretty or ugly. This is also the age when we start admiring models' perfect figures and we wished that we will be like them. To make their wish come through, plastic surgery is the shortest way towards perfection.
Personally, I think that people who under-go plastic surgery are dumb. Not only they pay money for chemicals and silicon for the operation, they even pay their body to the doctors. What will happen to you if the surgery fails and what will the doctors say? They would simply just say,"I am sorry, I did my best." Hence, you are the only one who would bear all the consequences.
Besides, one surgery cost a bomb and is your parent who pays for you. It is same like dumping thousands of money into the sea, useless and stupid. After the surgery, what makes you different from others. Will you have a higher chance to pass your tests, get better results and enter university? The answer is no. You are same like the rest. Hence, why bother under-going plastic surgery?
There are many examples about people who had gone for plastic surgery and it failed. Once, I read a newspaper article about a woman who under-go many plastic surgeries. They destroyed her beauty. Once, she is really very gorgeous. Now, she is hideous. One after one surgery failed and it spoilt her looks.
Simple is the beauty and exaggeration is the beast. After a success surgery, you got the looks but it still leave scars and marks on your body. Your whole face looks fake and made of silicon. I think as teenagers, we should just focus on our academic. In the future, then touch on looks and appearance.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” // 4:24 PM.
I personally feel that teenagers being obsessed with their appearaces are still acceptable but to the extent of considering plastic surgery is too far and is totally unacceptable. Firstly, I think that if teenagers are obsessed with their looks, it means that they do care about their impression on other people. If they are not obsessed with their looks, they will not bother about their impression on other people. For an example, it would be unsightly to spot a teenager wearing too casually on important and formal events. I think that if a teenager do care about his or her looks, they will dress in the right attire for the different events and they are not only respecting others, but also themselves.
But, being obsessed with their looks is okay already, and they should not be much too obsessed. They should not care about their looks all the time and put more time into their studies. They can dress up on whatever way they want outside school but during school, they should respect the school and the teachers by being dressed up right. This way, they will also not violate the school rules.
I also think that teenagers considering plastic surgeries are unacceptable because they may look 'ugly' now, but who will know how they will look when they grew up? They are a lot of people in the world who looked 'ugly' when they are young but they also grew up to be 'beautiful' and 'handsome', and some of these people are also celebrities and idols.
In conclusion, I think that teenagers being obsessed with their looks are okay but they should not go overboard and that plastic surgeries are not the only way to make one person look more beautiful. Also, plastic surgeries also carries its risks.

Firstly, looks don’t matter. Teenagers nowadays are too sensitive over how they look and how people think of them. Some are even thinking of going for plastic surgery. To me, I think that plastic surgery is a waste of money and also something that one should not go for, or even think of going. So what if someone has the looks? It’s all in the heart. No one wants a friend who is extremely gorgeous but has an atrocious behavior.
Teenagers are trying every means and ways just to look nice. For example, some teenage girls are thinking that they are too fat and want to be thin. This has made them to become anorexic, which means vomiting, or even forcing, food they had eaten out from their body after every meal. Some even starve themselves. It is really very dangerous for these girls to starve themselves just to be thin and looks nice, as being anorexic may even cost their lives. Plastic surgery is also very common now. Even though it may be safe, be it minor or big surgery, it still has some kind of risk in it. Also, to stand out in the crowd, some teenagers are trying to dress like their favourite celebrity and maybe even acting like them. It is really very unnecessary for teenagers to do all these stuff.
To look good doesn’t mean that you have to have the most outstanding appearance so as to make everyone envious of you. You have to have s good personality first, and then naturally, everyone will have a good impression on you. All in all, plastic surgery is a big ‘no-no’ to everyone.

I agree that teenagers nowadays are just too obsessed with their looks, and they find it very important to have good looks as they think this is the way how others view them. for this, many people are willing to spend lots of money for surgeries. I think that it is not necessary for teenagers to go for a surgery as everyone wants to look good and stand out amongst others. I think that people change their looks because they could not face up to the reality. Besides, most teenagers would be schooling and looks is not the main factor. It is not wrong to have good looks or wanting to have good looks but going to the extend of having a plastic surgery is not good as every operation comes with a risk. In fact, after a surgery, it is not guaranteed that the person would stay in that particular manner. Money would be another issue as I personally think that it is not worth it for a surgery. People may even regret going through a surgery as they wanted to be how they were before. This shows that not everyone may be satisfied after a plastic surgery, thus we should not ought for any plastics surgery and be satisfied for who we are.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” // 10:20 PM.
Indeed, teenagers today are obsessed about their looks. However, I feel that back then, teenagers are the same as us. I believe that they are so obsessed with their looks is due to the fact that they are insecure. As teenagers are still undergoing puberty and hormonal changes, they are confused about themselves and their sense of identity. Thus they turn to the media for their role models. The media then influences teenagers by projecting the perfect look. I personally feel that the teenagers will eventually grow out of it once they are able to find their own identity. As for teenagers wanting to go plastic surgery, I believe the reason is the same as the above. Teenagers want to look like their idols and no amount of make-up can make them 100% similar to their idols. As a result, they think of plastic surgery as a way to do so. Whether plastic surgery is right or wrong is debatable, since everyone has his or her own set of principles and morals. After all, plastic surgery is becoming cheaper, safer and more available to everyone due to technological advancements. One day, plastic surgery might even be 100% safe, then it will be up to the teenagers to choose whether they want to or not. In my opinion, plastic surgery is just like a smokescreen. It is a way of deceiving yourself and others. Deceiving yourself as you are not being true to your own image and identity, deceiving others as your appearance is not the real you.
hello ppl. good nite! is 8.49 now. must do finish e-learning, okay?

speaking frankly, i sometimes really hate this clas but i always will regret saying and thinking how much i hate this class. if not because of this class, i will not learn so many things. here are some lessons that i learnt-friendship between all of you, family relationship from all those staying backs, scarifices for work&class&council, love towards friends, uniteness, happiness, sadness and many more.
is because of this class and council that makes me really love zhonghua. i swear i never regret entering zhonghua secondary school. i really swear with my heart. i had many fond memories of these class, arguing with many ppl, hitting ppl, doing board deco, sec 1 chinese new year board competition, walking to bbq pit. all are really fond memories that i will never forget all my life, even my memory sux like hell.
speaking of sec 1 chinese new year board decoration, i must ask. WHERE THE HELL IS 1E6'07 UNITE SPIRIT??? where is it, taken away or eaten up. i really enjoy that time, most of us stay back till 7 to do. i drew pigs:) we talk ghost stories, spill paint, laugh, scared of thunder. but now, who the hell we are??? 1e6'07 ??? are u sure, where is the spirit, enthu spirit??? laughter and enjoyment, where has it gone to?
jiayou ppl. i just wanna want to say something:"I REALLY LOVE YOU ALL" if the class really & MUST unite again, if my biggest wish really fulifilled, if i really die before 50 years old in school, i dun mind, i spend till my fullest with my class:)
i wanna end with this:
wat is class???
Commitment to it with fullest enthu spirit Last breath with it, i don't mind Asthetically, physically, socially and mentally we have Succcess and fame we must get back from other classes Scream 2e6'08 together that we are proud of it

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”
I agree that teenagers today are all very concerned about their appearance. I think that it is not really a bad thing. Some may think others are wrong to want to look good. However, when you are trying to look good, it is doting yourself, gaining confidence and feeling good. There is nothing wrong to pamper yourself, gain confidence and feel good. Looking good is respecting yourself and even others. You don’t want a friend that looks terrible walking beside you? Do you? Looking good is respecting yourself as it show that you are proud of yourself. If you cannot respect yourself, how do you expect others to respect you too.
However, looking good is not about being handsome or beautiful. In my opinion, the most important thing to look good is to be clean. Cleanliness is very important. Secondly, to look good is to be yourself. Being yourself, you will feel happy and comfortable. Teens tend to copy their favourite celebrities. From hair to clothes, they want to look like their idols. This is not wrong but there is a limit to it. After changing your whole look, you will lose your real self. Moreover we are still young, acting too mature will not look good. Hence, I think that looking good can be very simple. Everyone have different perception of looking good. If you think you are good, trust yourself. Self-confidence is also very important when looking good.
Just like what I had mentioned earlier, looking good is being yourself. We should be contented with the looks we are born with. After all, they are our parents’ “presents” to us when we are born. After having a plastic surgery, you will lose your original look. Everyone is special. Hence, I think that after a plastic surgery, you will lose your uniqueness and become another person. There is always a risk when coming to any type of plastic surgery. We should not risk our life to something that is not necessary. Furthermore, why waste money to feel the pain during a plastic surgery. As teenagers, there are so many things we can do instead of consider getting plastic surgery to alter our appearance. Study is our priority now.

Teenagers today prefer to be same as their friends in order not to be left out. They style their hairs nicely in order to be the outstanding one, but they are not school standard. Some of them feel that they do not look perfect enough, thus the consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. Most of the time, teenagers went to the toilet to style their hair, even in school. As a human being, everyone will sure care about their looks and whether they are presentable. However, Teenagers are taking it seriously. Plastic surgery cost lots of money. For a teenager who is still studying, is impossible to be able to pay it himself. Teenagers around the world are too obsessed with their looks; some even have their hair tinned with color. By having plastic surgery, teenagers are just changing their own look. They are still growing; their look will also change too. There isn’t a need to do such plastic surgery at all. Who knows if the plastic surgery is a failure? And it may worsen the situation. I think as a student, there is no need to have plastic surgery at all, because a student’s role is to study.
“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” // 3:49 PM.
Actually, I disagree with teenagers going for plastic surgery to modify our looks. Personally, I fell that changing of our own face means that we cannot face up to reality. Besides, after the operation, our family and friends would be unable to recognize us. Why? Why do people want to change their facial looks? Isn’t our own face good enough? Think of those with diseases and thus affecting their facial looks! Recently, there was also a show on a man who did not have a face. He was pitiful as his face was covered with tumors. How do you think of that? Do you want to switch your face with him? For me, I am proud of my own facial looks. It is a gift from Heaven and I appreciate it. Even if my face is not ideal, I will not opt for plastic surgery. I will face up to reality and continue to live on. Actually, we boys do not need to depend on facial looks to succeed in life. Thus, do not mind about our facial looks or waste time going for surgery. We should concentrate on our studies and score well and that is what is needed of us teenagers to succeed in life.
“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”
True enough, teenagers are becoming more and more obsessed with their looks. There is nothing wrong with being particular about your looks. Afterall, everyone hopes to look pretty. Teenagers now are very much influence by the media industry. There are often crazy about their idols and wish that one day they themselves will look as pretty/handsome as the celebrities. If the celebrities have double eyelids, the teenagers will also hope for one.
In our morden society today, not only teenagers are obsessed with their looks. I am sure adults, even old uncles and aunties want to look good. Ultimately, who would want to look sloopy and all. Its is good that you dress nicely when you are going out, putting some makeups and accsories to make yourself nicer. Its perfectly fine, you are at least presentable.
However, i do not agree in going for plastic surgery for better looks. One should be contented with what one have. I believed that how you look is fated. In my " dictionary", there is no such word as handsome or pretty. Everyone have different defination of pretty and handsome. You might think this person is pretty but i might not. Everyone is pretty or handsome in his or her own way. What if you go through plastic surgery and is unhappy about the new look? Are you going to do plastic surgery again to get the look you like? As plastic surgery is an operation, there is still a certain amount of risk! You want to risk your life to look good. After all, back to my point, everyone should be contented about how he or she looks live with that looks forever.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” // 3:42 PM.
Nowdays, teenagers are getting more and more obessed with their looks. Walking on the streets, you could already see teenagers as young as 13, putting up mascara, eyeshadows, lipsticks, etc. They are easily influenced by their idols, which they think are perfect. They want to be like their idols, to look like them, to dress like them. And they are willing to do anything that makes them look good, even to the exent that many of them are considering getting plastic surgery.
Plastic survery have become so common and that every year, patients are becoming younger and younger. Plastic Surgery do make you look nicer, but it is still FAKE. It is like putting on a mask. Getting plastic surgery is also very expensive, here, we are not talking one or two hundreds, but a few thousands. I think that our natural looks are still the best and we should not waste money on this.
And also, I think that it is the inter qualities in the person that matters. For example, A, good looking, but have an evil heart. B, ugly-looking, but have a kind heart. Compare A and B, who do you think people will like? Of course is B, even if you are pretty, but have a evil heart, people will not like you. Looks are just a temporary impression in people. Just like A, she may look good, but after a certain period of time, when others see the real side of her, evil and unkind, they will soon leave her.
Anyways, for teenagers, I think that studies are still the most important thing now. They should focuse on their studies rather than being obessed over their looks. It is your studies that will lead to your future. If you have a good results, you will have a bright future waiting for you. But now, if you do not study, but only care about your looks, you may end up near the rubbish bin, crying and saying "Why didn't I study hard?".
In overall, I disagree of teenagers that resort to getting plastic surgery just because they want to look good.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” // 3:26 PM.
In my opinion, fashion has made a huge impact on teenagers in Singapore and they have also grown bolder in the way they dress. Fashion nowadays is also being widely advertised by the media. Teenagers are very influenced by the latest fashion mainly because they are in the process of growing up and can easily get swayed away by the things their friends around them wear and hence would want to fit in with their best friends and try their best to have whatever their friends are wearing. Some of these teens even turn to plastic surgery as they think that their appearance is not up to their standard. These teenagers should not turn to plastic surgery because it is very expensive. Another factor which causes these teenagers to care about their appearance is because of celebrities and videos of these celebrities which are posted on the internet. These teenagers would spend large amounts of time on the internet watching these videos and also learn to look like their idols and even try out tips given by these celebrities. Besides the internet and the television, fashion magazines also flood the markets. These fashion magazines can be found in all newsstands and convenience stores. The availability of such fashion magazines would push the teenagers to pursue their interest in the latest fashion. From this, I can conclude that teenagers nowadays are very obsessed about the looks and appearances mainly because the markets are bombarded with all kinds of new fashion which are coming up everyday. Personally, I feel that as a student, we should concentrate on our studies and not spend large amounts of time on their appearances and looks.
“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” // 2:53 PM.
Yes, teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. They are willing to go to great lengths to ‘perfect’ their looks. They will spent hours grooming themselves, or starve themselves for the whole day, or maybe even attempt to have plastic surgery. I feel that teenagers should not be too concern over their looks. They should concentrate on their studies instead of always thinking of methods to make them look better. As teenagers, our main duties are to study hard, not thinking of other things. Teenagers should not be ashamed with their looks. They should not try to change how they look by having plastic surgery. As plastic surgeries costs a great deal of money. Although plastic surgery can make one look good; but it is useless to one’s studies. Yes, appearance is important, but one should no overdo it. A good appearance does not mean having the latest hairstyle or a sharp nose. But a neat and clean look with a proper uniform, which is a neat hair style and properly tucked in uniform. In conclusion, projection of a clean and neat look is the ideal appearance for teenagers. Teenagers should learn to build up a good character instead of a good look.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”
Personally, i feel that it is quite alright for teenagers to be obsessed with their looks. Who doesn't want to look good in the eyes of others? It is the first impression that counts when you are in the outside world and because of this, many teenagers want their first impression to be presentable and not sloppy.
Now, i will focus on teenagers opting to plastic surgery so that they can alter their appearance. To me, there are many different ways to alter a person's appearance. It may be something less harmful such as dyeing your hair and going for hair extension, or it may be something that will cause great side effects on your health, especially mentally, such as plastic surgery.
Going for plastic surgery includes going for botox, a simple administered treatment that can temporarily smooth severe frown lines between the brows may cause mental side effects. For example, some people after having undergone botox may receive unkind remarks and disapproving comments from their friends or relatives such that they begin to feel that they were wrong to undergo botox. As a result, these people might get depression and this affects their mental health.
As the saying goes, beauty is skin deep. If there is someone that has an appearance that is not so perfect but has a good character, others will not really matter even though that person is not so good looking. On the contrary, even though there is someone that is good looking but has a bad character, people will still shun away from that person.
So remember, beauty is skin deep, your true friends and family will like you for who you are and will never mind about your appearance!

I agree with this comment. Teenagers nowadays are getting uptight about their looks, especially teenage girls. In our beauty-obsessed society, people take drastic measures to attain glamorous beauty and a flawless exterior. Plastic surgery has become so commonplace, that every year patients are becoming younger and younger. breast implants are quickly becoming a popular secondary school graduation gift. Teenage girls as young as 12 are putting on eyeshadows, lipsticks, rouge and mascara when going out. They think they look nice but they actually look like clowns. They are not doing it for performance purposes, instead, theyare doing it for vanity. You hear comments from most of your girlfriends like, "I don't know why school must have PE. It only makes us sweaty and tarnish my shy girl image." or " I think I'm getting fatter" or whatever stuff they say. I also have a friend who went for a surgery to reshape her lips. I admit, it reallys looks nicer, but I do not, repeat, NOT like the price tag that goes with it.The cost of procedures can add up to thousands of dollars. Insurance does not cover the costs of these procedures. "Why spend so much money for just looks?" The reply is," Everybody's dream is to look nice. If you don't look nice, nobody will like you." Plastic surgery is extremely unadvisable for anybode. even adults. Not only is surgery complex and risky for mature adults, it is extremely perilous for younger people, and some doctors are performing these procedures on kids as young as fourteen. When surgery takes an unexpected wrong turn, irreparable damage can occur. Any surgery on a young, undeveloped person has a risk of complication such as permanent scaring or infection, which can lead to death. Even if there are no complications, there is no guarantee that surgery will provide the "perfect" nose or sculpted body. No matter how minor the procedure, it is not as effortless as it appears. IN CONCLUSION, PLASTIC SURGERY IS NOT ADVISABLE FOR TEENAGERS.

I agree that nowadays, most of the teenagers are very obsessed with their looks. They are all influenced by the dressing and the different looks from all over the country. Many celebrities are the role model of what the perfect look is and teenagers are being influenced by them. In their minds they all have a picture of what a perfect look is like. Many of them aimed to have a perfect look in their minds and they try to do whatever they can to fulfill their dream. However, I disagree to the fact that many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. I think only a small group of them had considered plastic surgery. Many of the teenagers think of other ways to improve their look rather than considering going for plastic surgery, like dressing themselves up. When we walk on the streets, we can see teenagers dressing up in the most ‘in’ outfit and putting on makeup to improve their appearance. Many of the teenagers had started to put on makeup at very young age. Some of them even start to put on makeup before they reach teenage age. I think that teenagers should not be too obsessed with their looks. We just have to make ourselves presentable and that would be enough. Toh Jia Yi (23)

Nowadays, teenagers are getting very obsessed with their looks. Many feel that they do not look attractive, do not look good, and wanted to make changes to their appearance. Hence, many opted for plastic surgery. Plastic surgeries are widely available now, as long as you have the money, you can do anything to yourself.
However, I feel that plastic surgeries are of no need and no use. We are born how we are supposed to look like. It is like an identity of ours and no amendments are needed. Teenagers going for plastic surgeries as they feel inferior compared to their friends and wanted be someone that can “fit” into the crowd. They think that if they go for plastic surgery, they will look good, like part of the crowd. However, it does not help. They will still feel inferior if they meet someone better than them. What will they do? Go for surgery again?
Actually being you is the best make-up. If they are you true friends, they will accept you for who you are. Plastic surgery can change your looks, but not your character. If you have a good character and nice personality, you can have one but true friend. Thus, just be yourself!!

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”
I do not approve of teenagers getting so obsessed with their looks to the extent that they go for plastic surgery just to look pretty or handsome. Of course everyone wants to look good, including me, but so long as we look presentable, it is enough. What I mean by presentable is that we dress for the right occasion and look nice in whatever clothes, hairstyle, shoes or accessories that suits us.
Just like the saying goes, "Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder", most guys and girls who go for plastic surgery go for the sake of being beautiful so they can attract attention, or coincidentally meet their special someone who will be wowed by their looks. However, for example, if a guy likes a girl because she is pretty, then that "like" is only on the surface and has nothing to do with liking her purely for who she is, in other words, her character and attitude. Is that what teenagers who are obsessed with their looks really want? Attraction that is only skin-deep and that has no real depth whatsoever?
Going for plastic surgery is like creating a fake image of yourself, what is so beautiful about someone who isn't real? To me, natural looks are still the best and we should not waste money or time on plastic surgery that will not benefit us in any useful way. Besides, teenagers are mostly students and should not waste precious time doing pointless things like dolling up. Instead, they should spend their time studying hard and planning for a bright future ahead of them.
Overall, I strongly disagree on teenagers getting overly obsessed with their looks that they are even considering plastic surgery.

Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. // 12:35 PM.
Personally, to me, I feel that doing plastic surgery is something that is pretty useless to me. What is the use of getting dolled up with nice outlook and clothes when they are not even real? I feel that when you look and when you are natural, it will be the best look for you.
In addition, plastic surgery might be dangerous to people if the operation fails. Especially when it comes to teenagers, when their bones and facial features are not developed well enough yet, the surgery might affect their growth and eventually lead to health problems.
Even if you look wonderful on the outside, but have a really bad attitude on the inside, it would be of no use. Yes, people might want to make friends with you because of your pretty looks, but once they've seen through the inside of you, they will come to realise too that it's what the inside that counts, not what's on your outside.
In conclusion, plastic surgery is not meant for teenagers nor adults, as looking natural and looking good on the inside is what really matters.

Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.
I think the reason why teenagers these days are so obsessed with their looks is because they want to look attractive and high class. Some teenagers even put on make up when they go to school and get caught in the end. After certain activities, girls will think that their hair is super messy and they will rush to the toilets to do up their hair again and they spend lots of time in the toilet. Well, girls do this because they want others to see the pretty side of them and not the messy side. Guys also do that sometimes as their hair is messed up when they run or play games during PE. So they rush to the toilets to check their hair and also spend some time in the toilets. It is natural for girls and guys to worry about their appearances, especially when people around them are more attractive than them and also competition from other countries. But, it is not a necessity to go for plastic surgeries to alter their appearances. After all, it is themselves who make the decision whether to be influenced by those people who go for plastic surgeries. The competition now is so stiff that when companies recruit employees, the first thing they look at is the looks of that person. If he or she is not good looking enough, no matter how high the level of intelligence he or she has, they might not hire him or her. So, in attempts to get jobs in companies, many girls go for plastic surgeries to look better so that they would get recruited. All in all, i think that going for plastic surgery is something that is not very good as it is a total waste of money and time. The 'good' effects of plastic surgery will wear off some time later and it will look even worse and there are many side effects to plastic surgery.

It is a fact, that in the present society, everyone wants to look good. In fact, teenagers are not the only ones that are obsessed with their looks, but rather everyone. With the advancement of our world and the non-stop production of more attractive items each time, people's pursuit for a perfect look hinders them even more.
As teenagers, i do not think that we should be so obsessed with our appearance. The reason behind is that we are still in the midst of our education, appearance is not much of a matter yet, as studies still come first. I don't mean we should look sloppy and everything, but to the extent of wasting precious time in front of the mirror, just to do up your hair before going to school is plain ridiculous. And with disciplinary actions taken by many schools, part of their hair might just end up in the dustbin.
However, i must make a stand that dressing nicely when we are out, is not a problem. But i do not support teenagers who go to the extent to do plastic surgery. Even if it is true that it is able to make you look or feel better, being the prettier, more handsome or slimmer you. But still, many risks are involved in the process, what's more is that, it might not really turn out to be your perfect look. If you consider getting plastic surgery, i suggest that you should consider the your expenses to actually keep it the way it is, not forgetting the consequences too. Many die from having plastic surgery, and that mistake they made robbed their life from them.
Having a decent appearance is good enough, what for go to such an extent? And it is the inner beauty that shows who you are, your innerself overthrowns your outward appearance. In any case, this is just how i feel. Do think twice before concluding.

If you go to the toilet, especially after PE lessons, you may always heard complaints such as "Oh my hair is so messy!" or "PE sucks! Must sweat..." Indeed, more and more teenagers are more and more obsessed and cared about their appearances. I believed that not girls only but guys. Some people even think about go through plastic surgery for better look. However, I think it is not necessary. Now we are still students. Properly, there are still not many students who go under plastic surgery is because they are still concern about their parents. Maybe, many of them are thinking going through plastic surgery after 18 years old. However, does that needed? What will happen if you have a better look? For the society these days, I do not see anything happen with good looks because I think that the personal character is the most important thing to look at. I do agree that if we should dress properly, but not too concern about it. Appearance is not the most important. What to do with good appearance? Overall, I do not support teenagers going under plastic surgery. I also do not think that being too obsessed about their looks is a positive thing.

Nowadays, everyone is striving to look good and plastic surgery is becoming very common, espacially in competitive countries like Korea and Japan. With the growing importance of our image and appearance, many are considering plastic surgery as an option.
Teenagers are also becoming self-conscious and are more obsessed with their looks. Many teenagers can be seen with dyed hair, piercings, and so on. Adults and teenagers alike follow trends in order to look good and to fit in with their peers. Our perception of what is trendy changes mainly because of the media's influence on us.
While it is natural for people to care about their appearance, some are overdoing it by going for plastic surgery. By altering one's physical appearance, it is unnatural and there are risks involved as well. For instance, when done incorrectly, plastic surgery may look unnatural or in more severe cases, it may make one look worse.
Also, plastic surgery is a waste of time and money. Beauty is skin deep. We should not judge others by their looks, instead, we should get to know the person's character and personality. Looks are not as important, because a stunning personality can easily outshine a dull appearance.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”
Well, since technology is so advanced today, changing appearances nowadays is as easy as ABC. All you need is money.
However, plastic surgery does not mean perfection as there is some risks to it. There are also a couple of risks in this surgery itself. Much more, from the quote "Beauty is but skin deep" you can understand that even if you look drop dead gorgeous but you don't have the inner self in within, you are just as ugly as anyone who does not go for plastic surgery or maybe even uglier.
"Do you want to look sexually appealing or appealing to the eyes." This is a choice. Well, for girls, some of them are going for plastic surgery as they want to satisfy the standards of their boyfriends in order to feel more loved. However, they do not know that what makes them attractive is their nature and not on the outlook.
Being too obsessed with their appearance for teenagers is actually rather natural due to the hormones that is changing due to puberty. Also, due to the negative comments that have been given to them over the past few years, losing their confidence.
However, no matter what, I do not support the decision of teenagers going for plastic surgery as what really matters is on the inside and not the outside. And everyone is special and unique in every differebt way, therefore, I strongly disagree and oppose that decision.

Plastic surgery is one of those surgeries that requires lots of money yet does not promise perfection. Other than those teenagers with rich backgrounds, being only a teenager, where would they get the huge sum of money from to carry out that dangerous surgery just to make themselves look nicer? However, many of them have considered going for plastic surgery to look better as it seems to be the only way out to beauty. Some may think, only with that beautiful face then would you have enough confidence to face the world outside; do what you had desired to do for long, and plastic surgery seems as if it is the easiest and fastest way to alter their looks. Thus the statement which states that teenagers are too obsessed with their looks such that many of them had the thought of going for plastic surgery to alter their appearance seems to be totally true.
Yes, it may just be a thought that seems as if it would never come true, but who knows? Those who wanted plastic surgery to be performed on them when they were young may still have the desire for it when they get older and have enough financial aid to perform the surgery. Still, even if the price of plastic surgery drops drastically, I would still not support plastic surgery. Beauty is what that comes from within. No matter what you look like on the exterior, what matters is your inner beauty. With that kind and good heart, you are already considered a beauty. Exterior beauty would not last for long, thus it’s the inner beauty within people that matters as it would last for long.

Nowadays, most people look at others' first appearances. for example, during a party, when a teenager is finding a new friend, he/she usually choose a person who looks more trendy. therefore, we have to keep up our appearances.
i think that it is okay for teenagers to care about their looks, but not too obsessed about it. Teenagers nowadays like to follow the trend, like rebonding their hair, dye their hair, piercings and buying fashionable clothes. Most teenagers think that it is normal to do so, as everybody else is doing the same. Their idea of what is fashionable is easily influenced by the media and by the people around them. 114
However, i think that most people should not go for plastic surgery as it is a waste of time and money. and more importantly, it is unnatural. we should not only look at outer appearances, and should look at their personality too. 155 We should try to understand a person's inner self instead of judging them by their outer appearence. If a pretty girl is proud and selfish, she will not be well-liked by others.
In conclusion, i think that people should not go for plastic surgery to look good.

In the society nowadays, people get more and more obsessed with their appearances, and teenagers are the ones who form the majority of them. Be it in school or outside school, teenagers get too pre-occupied by their looks, they want to look more attractive and gorgeous to everybody, and mostly, the opposite gender. I think that it is normal and not wrong for teenagers to care about looks, but not when we overdo it. It will be good if this can build up our self-esteem and we will be more confident in everything we do. However, I think that teenagers should not go for unnecessary surgeries to alter their looks, we are born with our own looks and we should accept and cherish it. If we go for surgery, we wouldn’t look so real and our looks will become very unnatural, besides that, it is a wastage of hard-earned money. Be it in school or outside school, teenagers tend to make themselves look more attractive by folding up their skirts or making their socks “disappear” into their shoes. I think that this is a very inappropriate way of showing out their attractiveness. We are in a school compound and should abide by the school rules and focus on our studies instead of looks. What exactly matters is our character, and not how good we look.
teens nowadays are too obsessed with their looks // 9:47 AM.
Nowadays when you walk into the girl's toilet, you could often hear words like''Am i fat?'',''Am i ugly?"Teens in schools like to read magazines and watch television, after sometime, their perception of ''good-looking'' and ''fat'' are all based on their idols and the models in the magazines, they often compare themselves with the people in the showbiz and if they think they are not as good looking as them, they would think they are ugly.Teens would sometimes buy expensive cosmetics and accessories, some teens are so desperate to look beautiful that they turn to plastic surgery, even if it means not eating lunch everyday to save up money for their plastic surgery. From my point of view,i think this is not a right thing to do as we are still students now and our main concern is our results ,not about how we look, although it is true that if we have a good appearance,by keeping ourselves tidy and clean, others will have a good impression of us.But this does not mean that we have to groom ourselves in front of the mirror for hours trying to make ourselves look better.Instead of deciding which makeup and what clothes one should wear today,it is surly wiser to do something aiding to our study. The subject of plastic surgery is not really suitable for teens as it needs a great deal of money and hours of starving ourselves, and many teens think that going true a plastic surgery will make them happier and prettier. It is true that [plastic surgery will make one's appearance look better on the outside, but this beauty is just skin-deep,it is just covering what is truly inside us.Everyone is unique in their own way, everyone is important to someone who loves and care for them, ,if the persontruly loves you ,he or she will continue to love and care for you no matter how you look. Thus i think that there is no point of making yourself look better by going through plastic surgery. wuweijie(28)

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” - Commentary // 9:00 AM.
In present society, one's image and reputation is very important. Everyone wants to look good, including teenagers. However, teenagers should not be obsessed with their looks.
As a student, we should care more about our grades. We should not waste precious time in front of the mirror, trying to gel our hair or alter our uniforms. Time can be spent more wisely on studying and revising.
Although image and reputation is important, we should not overdo it. I feel that projecting a clean and neat image is enough. Students should look like students. Spiking our hair or altering our uniforms is not necessary. The school also wants us to project a good student image. By keeping our attire neat and tidy, we are not only saving our own reputation, but also the reputation of the school.
On the topic of plastic surgery, I feel that it is a waste of money. We should be proud of the looks we are born with. It is inner beauty that is more important. Whether we are pretty, handsome or ugly, our personality will remain the same. If someone only makes friends with us because we look good, then he or she is not a true friend. True friends will accept us for who we are, not what we look like.

OKAY. so today's e-learning. and i have done my reflections on the eng topic.
TEENAGERS OVER-CONSCIOUS WITH THEIR LOOKS (by tanhuihien 2e6/18)
Teenagers nowadays are over-conscious with their looks, either in school, courses, or outside of their homes. I think it is both normal and, however, wrong to do so. In school, there are some school disciplinary rules, that include the hair, to follow. However, most students tend to have nice hair and not neat hair, which break the school rule. Students refuse to keep their hair neat. Instead, they continue to have nice hair for showing off. This shows teenagers over-conscious with their looks and it is wrong. We have to abide the school rules because in school, we go there and study, not to go there and show off your looks.
However, in courses or outside of school and homes, teenagers can make themselves look good with their nice hair or make-ups. Perhaps this can be said as “pulling up their self-esteem” to being a more confident person. Teenagers often get jealous of other people’s good looks, thus, they tend to keep up with the latest fashion or trend. Some would go to an extend of spending huge amount of money in order to be called “pretty” or “handsome”. I feel that it is normal for them to feel jealous, but spending too much money on looks is way too over, thus I think it is inappropriate. But as long as teenagers are able to differentiate between what is right and what is wrong, then conscious with your looks is not a problem.
okay, done already. gd luck for elearning peepo. :D
