“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”
I agree that teenagers today are all very concerned about their appearance. I think that it is not really a bad thing. Some may think others are wrong to want to look good. However, when you are trying to look good, it is doting yourself, gaining confidence and feeling good. There is nothing wrong to pamper yourself, gain confidence and feel good. Looking good is respecting yourself and even others. You don’t want a friend that looks terrible walking beside you? Do you? Looking good is respecting yourself as it show that you are proud of yourself. If you cannot respect yourself, how do you expect others to respect you too.
However, looking good is not about being handsome or beautiful. In my opinion, the most important thing to look good is to be clean. Cleanliness is very important. Secondly, to look good is to be yourself. Being yourself, you will feel happy and comfortable. Teens tend to copy their favourite celebrities. From hair to clothes, they want to look like their idols. This is not wrong but there is a limit to it. After changing your whole look, you will lose your real self. Moreover we are still young, acting too mature will not look good. Hence, I think that looking good can be very simple. Everyone have different perception of looking good. If you think you are good, trust yourself. Self-confidence is also very important when looking good.
Just like what I had mentioned earlier, looking good is being yourself. We should be contented with the looks we are born with. After all, they are our parents’ “presents” to us when we are born. After having a plastic surgery, you will lose your original look. Everyone is special. Hence, I think that after a plastic surgery, you will lose your uniqueness and become another person. There is always a risk when coming to any type of plastic surgery. We should not risk our life to something that is not necessary. Furthermore, why waste money to feel the pain during a plastic surgery. As teenagers, there are so many things we can do instead of consider getting plastic surgery to alter our appearance. Study is our priority now.
